Thanks for the patch. I noticed that it did the same thing with Klimmek's beard, which you find in Ivarstead. Can you do anything about it ? Unless it's from High Poly NPC Overhaul, Northbourne NPCs of The Rift or expressive facegen morphs which I also use.

Could be a conflict between HP NPC and Northourne. Try using EasyNPC to see if you can resolve the conflict.

If that doesn't solve the problem, track down which beard Klimmek is using in your load order and send me a screenshot of the clipping issue, and I'll see what I can do. (Might be I can't do anything, but I'll give it a shot.)

I don't have a beard mod, so I assume the beard is from Northbourne NPCs of the Rift. With the mouth animation when he speaks, bits of beard on his cheeks disappear and reappear. Clearly, the problem lies with Expressive Facegen Morphs SE. There have been reports of this : male face glitches through beards

Sounds like a High Poly Head issue. Either Klimmek's head is High Poly and his beard is intended for the vanilla head, or else his head is vanilla poly and his beard is intended for HPH. Again, that would seem to point to a conflict between 2 mods both trying to edit Klimmek's appearance. Northbourne doesn't use HPH, so you're getting the beard from one mod and the head from the other, and they don't line up.

I use EFM and haven't noticed any beard clipping issues (with vanilla heads), but I have noticed beard clipping when messing around with High Poly Head. So I think the issue that's being reported on the EFM bug page is more likely related to a HPH beard-to-head mismatch.

I still think EasyNPC is probably your best bet, or else adjusting your load order to resolve the conflict. EasyNPC would be less hazardous. It's not an issue with the beard itself, so me trimming it probably wouldn't work.

Edit: I should add that the above is all conjecture based on incomplete information drawing on knowledge I picked in like the last two week. But I'm still reasonably sure that EasyNPC is the answer.

Thank you for your reply. I will try this mod.
      ...
I installed EasyNPC and found that some npcs were using the wrong physics. With 15,000 npcs, it took me a while, but I should only do it once in theory. Thanks for introducing me to this mod. On the other hand, it doesn't solve the problem of black faces (I believed in it) and I'm still forced to use Face Discoloration Fix (I don't have the time or motivation to fix it by hand, lol).
