May 13 2024 Update VHR has reached 1.0 meaning that it is functionally complete. I have created a major update for that version so if you do update to 1.3 of this mod, you will need 1.0 of VHR to get functioning physics for the hairs.
The High Poly Head version has released, you can find it here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/119005
Basically since the facegen was generated with physics-supported hairs even if you don't want physics you should have FSMP installed or else you could get CTD, I haven't tested it myself but this is according to the author jg1
Great to get a facegen and npc overhaul that is up to date and looks great. Honest feedback, some of the facetints are very blurry. Probably due to the dirt/overlays they were generated with. If you ever update it, I think higher quality tints would make this even better. ^^
Even at 1k? maybe since I have Vanilla Makeup HD/Warpaints absolution I didn't notice but I thought they looked pretty good, honestly I could to 2k but I'm not sure that would come without a performance hit
I don't think 2k is necessary. I don't think Danny is talking about the texture size, it's just that the dirt in some of them is blurry/pixelated, as though a smaller texture image has been stretched over a 1k image (not that I know anything about facegen, I'm just guessing). E.g. 000aa8d4.dds I don't know about Vanilla Makeup HD or Warpaints absolution. Do they cover all of the vanilla overlays? If you're looking for an alternative to Faithful's facetints, I recommend High Quality FaceTints by Shiva182: nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18360 (it's quite old now so doesn't include CC content) facegeom looks amazing tho, great work :) Also, if you update this mod, could you please upload it as a 7zip archive instead of a zip? I tested it with default settings and the .7z was about half the size of the .zip.
Sure, I'll keep 7z in mind for next time. The mods I mentioned are just texture replacers (like skin mods) hence my recommendation, I think they should cover everything. But you are right - that facetint mod will absolutely work on top of this if you find that it looks better!
Yeah that's pretty much what I was discussing. You mentioned you used Vanilla Makeup HD and Warpaints Absolution but after a quick look it doesn't seem like the facetints are being generated with those. I picked a random one with obvious facetints, 0003defe which is some nordbandit. You can see the facepaint in Absolution doesn't match the one in the facetint and ends up being a lot more blurry. Additionally you can see the lips aren't from the HD mod either as the lips have a jagged outline. Anyway, hopefully this helps in case this isn't intentional. As mentioned of course users can just grab that other facetints file, although your choice of Vanilla HD and Absolution is a little more vanilla-esque.
EDIT: Oh! but it does seem like your modpage screenshots do show modded dirt/facepaints. So not sure what happened between those and your one here.
Just tested in game and it works fine on my end, make sure nothing is overwriting. Make sure to have archives parsing enabled in mo2 to see conflicts for this mod
I found the culprit it was this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/115524
I have this issue with Serana and all NPC vampires glowing yellow sclera, it's off-putting but i can't seem to use both these mods together unfortunetly.
Yeah that mod just replaces the facegen so will conflict. The sclera color is vanilla behavior, so to remove it you do need to change the eyes during facegen. I'll see if I can do something for next pass if I update
Could a patch be made to account for USSEP's changes? USSEP made tweaks and changed some of the npc's gender and race in its esp, and has facegens that conflicts with this mod.
The HPH plugin touches every NPC in the game, so yeah record conflicts are gonna be a ton more. I'm more interested in the facegen tho obviously since if its changing the gender and stuff plugin side then no doubt there needs to be a facegen patch
Your mod is my favoprite SMP face remake. faces of the standard distribution of "jg1" is no remake than your, and other mods with high poly change too much the face, i never reconize lydia; and i choose all for lydia.

Why ESP, not just FaceGen?

I'm sure the HPH version also needs one as well?

Checked against facegen conflicts and USSEP esp that modifies its visuals. I'm guessing the HPH version has much more than this?

Cheers for the mod btw!
