Welcome to the Anniversary Edition of part 2 of my "Finishing What They Started" series, where I find some area of Skyrim that the devs don't seem to have fully fleshed out and do it myself, for my own satisfaction.  Today, we have some smelting, crafting, and mining fixes, all done to my specifications and no one else's.

We'll start with Smelting:
  • All dwarven clutter and scrap can now be smelted down.  I tried to base output on how much material seemed to be present in the mesh itself but there is only so much you can do here.  All the new recipes disappear if the associated item is not in your inventory, in order to keep the menu uncluttered.

Crafting:
  • Imperial Studded Armor now has a crafting recipe.  I have used hundreds of mods at one time or another and I have never been able to craft this.
  • Smelting and tanning now level your smithing, as does the Smelting Pot in Myrwatch.  Tanning now has reduced experience.
  • You know those broken weapon bits?  Well not all of them were even used and they never did anything.  Now they do.  Finding a handle and matching top allows for crafting of some unique-ish weapons with perkified effects.  The unused pieces have been distributed to chests primarily in Bloodlet Throne and Saarthal, with one in AngarvundeThese now have unique meshes
  • Reaching 100 Smithing will now deposit a book about smithing techniques which will grant a perk doubling Iron and Leather tempering (and a few other things that didn't have an associated perk).  You'll also get a transmute spell tome that allows you to turn iron into corundum, along with extra supplies at the various blacksmith vendors.
  • All four circlet metal types (Copper, Jade, Silver, and Gold) now have versions with each of the five gem types (Onyx, Moonstone, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald).  This doubles the number of circlets.  Added new meshes so the new circlets have the correct specular color.
  • All twenty circlets can be crafted.  Jade is a mixture of moonstone and malachite, while copper is just corundum.
  • Large pieces of charcoal can be broken into 4 sticks of charcoal.
  • Imperial Full and Officer's Helmets can now be crafted after handing over the Jagged Crown.
  • Hunting and Longbows can now be crafted.
  • Honed Draugr weapons can now be upgraded at the Skyforge into Honed Nord Hero weapons.
  • You can now craft (and temper) an Imperial warhammer.
  • 1 mammoth tusk can now be crushed into 3 servings of powdered mamoth tusk.
  • 2 glowing mushrooms can be crushed into 1 serving of glow dust.

Mining
  • Ore veins glow now.  I've seen a mod or two do this (and they were good) but never was I fully satisfied so I made my own adjustments instead.

Future Plans
  • I may make some tweaks to the broken weapons.  I'm thinking about meshes, but I mostly mod for console and, well...Sony. Done.
  • Some of the scrap recipes might have some changes in the future.
  • I might look into reducing the experience on the tanning rack. Done.
