A little guide to mix and match antlers and sharp teeth
you will need to download both versions
No antlers - Sharp teeth: 1. install standard version 2. from the antler version, extract only textures\ColdSun\Visions\NPCs\Auri\teeth folder to the same directory on your installed version 3. replace meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\018Auri.esp\00000D63.nif with the same file from the antler version 4. you're done
antlers - no sharp teeth: 1. install antlers version 2. (optional) delete textures\ColdSun\Visions\NPCs\Auri\teeth folder 3. replace meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\018Auri.esp\00000D63.nif with the same file from the standard version 4. your'e done
My favorite Auri model got updated? Neat Couple questions 1.Is it safe to replace previous mod with this midgame? 2.Does it require latest Skyrim version? Because I play downgraded one.
So after installing this replacer, the game loads fine initially. I turn around to face Auri, and I can see her, but she's pretty far away, so I can't make out her face well. As I walk closer to her, within about 10 feet or so, I get CTD.
I've had issues with another Auri replacer I tried a while back, but there, it was CTD when entering her house.
Any idea what might be going on? I downloaded your (relatively recent?) general NPC replacer, and that works great.
Seems to only conflict with Auri replacers though.
Vortex of course complained about some file conflicts, but I had it load the replacer after the mod, and that usually resolves everything with other mods.
If you or anyone else has some ideas what could be causing that conflict, I'd love to hear it so I can use this one, as I am very happy with the NPC replacer. Otherwise, I guess I just go on with stock Auri.
I honestly don't know what could be conflicting. Its not this replacer causing it though. What version of Skyrim are you using and did you download the asset pack?
I am a couple versions behind, I want to say 1.6.353 if 1.6.629 is current. I have all the SKSE dependent stuff on correct versions for that.
And yes, I downloaded the asset pack. I imagine your other mod wouldn't be working so well otherwise.
Kinda stumped what the problem could be, because using this replacer mod is like flipping a lightswitch for the CTD. Like I said, I've had different but sortakinda similar problems with other Auri replacers though.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond and give it a think, even if this remains an annoying mystery. I was kind of hoping someone would jump in here with "Oh yeah, I had that same problem, you need to do X about it."
This is one of my more popular replacers too. If it was a common problem a lot more people would be coming to me in Discord. So its definitely something in your load order causing it. But I have no idea how you will nail it down beyond you just going through your load order and disabling things you think might be causing it until you find the culprit.. Or just as you said just using the default Auri. Good luck with whatever you decision is and have a nice day.
Just as an FYI to anyone else with the same issue, no, I haven't solved it, but I did at least confirm that Vortex did extract all the files (sometimes it fails to), and the two files that conflict with the base Auri mod did appear to be replaced, with those being backed up by Vortex in the directory, and correct file sizes.
Still CTD. This one is mysterious, and it's bothering me.
I am going to leave this here for whoever runs into this in a few years out of desperation.
I figured it out.
The problem was that the .esp file was loading before CS_Visions.esp, strangely. Certainly not because I thought that was ok, but because of the combination of Vortex setting "mod" and "plugin" orders separately, and using LOOT on the latter. I expected it would be doing the sane thing there and loading the replacer last (especially after specifying the load order in the mods section that way), but nope. So the fix was to set up rules manually under the plugins section.
Yep all replacers I set at very bottom so they overwrite EVERYTHING. Had a nasty BFB (black face bug) I tracked down to Botox for men which is way outdated.

2) Nope - I use 1.5.97 myself.
will update Auri as I have free time
Is there any way to maintain the lore accurate height of Bosmers with this replacer?

It's always something dumb, I swear.
it's the little details, but goes a long way bringing out Auri's character
