Update v1.01: Fixed an issue where the NPCs going unconscious would interrupt killmoves, resulting in an immortal NPC
Update v1.02: Adds the ability to toggle whether or not to allow killing essentials. This is handled through using the second word of the shout. Also cuts off the duel if you or the opponent pass through a load screen. This prevents any bugs that might come from an NPC fleeing into a building.
Update v1.03: Challenging while using magic will no longer be interpreted as unarmed combat
For some reason this mod made my character invincible, NPCs attacks dont't even land. I am using a few other combat mods like Inpa Sekiro, so probably a conflict.
This mod's script writting is exellent. Had it for many playthroughs without issues but it seem to have a issue with death alternate mods such as undeath. Since I downloaded classical lichdom if my character die the challenge downed script seem to conflict with classical lichdom script causing my character to teleport to a falling void that is probably underground which I have no way to get out beside doing coc command. So is it safe to uninstall this mod mid playthrough or could I do sth to fix this? And the mod author of Classical lichdom confirmed it is this mod's issue.
I’d imagine it’d be pretty tough to contend with multiple mods trying to do very different things when the player goes down. Just a classic design incompatibility. The general recommendation is to avoid uninstalling mid-playthrough, but this mod should be relatively safe to do so since nothing in it is running outside of duels.
While the dueling worked and no guards intervened when i killed one of the targets but for some reason it's still being registered as murders because i checked the crime stats and after I killed one of the npcs it's saying the amount of times I murdered someone.
Not sure how the game decides to track that, since challenging an NPC does have them initiate combat. I wonder if you see similar results casting fury on NPCs. At any rate, preventing that number from going up wasn’t really a design goal for this mod, and it may not even be all that unreasonable if you chose to kill the target you were dueling.
Why is it that restricted? i want to duel my followers, which isnt possible. So its useless for me. Also the -1 relationship and so on. Unnecessary. Duels can be used to improve and stay sharp or to see if your rival catches up to you. But no, not with your mod unfortunately..
Standard duels triggered with the shout are life-and-death and are explicitly a hostile action in turn. This mod features an alternative friendly challenge feature, which you can make use of by talking to friendly and strong NPCs while you have the challenge shout equipped. As with the shout, followers need to be dismissed first (things break if an active follower is forced to be hostile).
I believe the challenge shout only works on non-hostile NPCs, so it wouldn’t take effect while in the middle of a duel with the target. It’s been quite a few years since I made this though, so I may be mistaken.
I've tried taking to couple of NPCs in Whiterun and there is no option for a duel. Is it somehow restricted to just few NPCs? The shoult works fine but they always die.
I have been using this mod for 5 years best mod especially to this day for modern combat, using this you can experiment freely with your SKYSA or some other animation.

But now they always die, always. Any option to make them essential?
EDIT: reinstalled and it works! NICE. Btw, what if you are in a duel and shout 3 times? Does it change the essential option?
