Hm, I can't get it to work. I have no idea why. I downloaded the requirements, and other community shaders features do work. Except for the caustics mod, that one also does not work for me. I tried to rebuild the shader caches and even removed a mod that changed the water color, but that did not help. I am playing in VR.
Hey, excellent mods btw This mod works for water but for the life of me, I can't make this work for armors, only the female guard helm, and some weapons reflects for some reason. Anything else doesnt work and doesnt reflect I have the latest version of community shaders I cleared the disk cache and the shader cache I made sure I don't have the dll d3dcompiler_47.dll I have a 1080ti I'm at a loss
While it looks really nice for water or ice reflection, it's just pure joke otherwise. I mean which glass item or metal armor reflect light like that ? We're in 2024 dang :/ it's overdoing it
Likely this isn't down to the shader, but the underlying assets not being developed to use shaders.
All Community Shaders does is implement shader mechanisms as they are supposed to be implemented. Their effect on various assets being different than expectations comes down to those assets not being developed for the use of these kinds of shaders.
Texture patches need to be developed to make optimal use of this.
EDIT: If I'm not mistaken, the mod author has provided a sampler mod with cubemaps for metals.
@MisterBluey, Your proving my point perfectly, By telling someone and firing an absolute tantrum at users simply talking about the effects it has on their game that they "Must not go outside" for daring to mention the minimal visual improvement of the game, shows damn well what this is about and what it has always been about.
No its not that deep, the sole reason for community shaders has always been a poltical agenda against ENB both from the creator of CS and its users its surface level and observable for all to see, nothing else nothing more and the users of it that abuse verbally and in the worst cases have tried doxxing hunting people down for simply saying the actualities of community shaders and its addons says it all.
@BlueWolf I have got it fowards and perfectly in the centre of whats happening see above for proof. No, your just projecting the community shaders and their fanbases actions onto Borris; without blame and fabrication, you have nothing.
The observable fact that people are being attacked for talking about how community shaders and the addons actually look makes it incredibly clear that extremism and violence, amongst other bizarre obsessions, take priority over actually making the game look better you can smear attack, name call falsley call me and others alcholics ect, it does not work and your abuse wont make you right, it just makes it more clear you are in the wrong and drives the point home.
A single elderly likely poor and vulnerable developer who dares to not have the same extreme belief system, and you feel the need to attack in groups and go on a violent crime filled crusade against him and develop alternatives in the tens of thousands with extreme money behind it and it still is a decade behind in visuals lol.
In SkyrimVR, the thieves' guild water is reflecting the bright blue sky instead of the dark sewage ceiling. If I disable Dynamic Cubemaps and use Cubemap Reflections instead, it looks normal. I don't use Sky VRaan, by the way.
Test environment: - SkyrimVR - Community Shader 0.8.7 - Sky Reflection Fix 1.0.1 - VR Address Library 0.121.0 - Engine Fixes VR 1.24 - Realistic Water Two 5.6.0 - Lux 6.4.1
It's not totally clear from the description page but if anything is using a default cubemap you cannot see the effect, only the default cubemap. My bottles were reflecting a cube-room while outside. Try using these textures (which are basically black cubemaps) and the generated Dynamic cubemaps will appear instead. it says for ENB, but they are just textures and will work with CS too. The creator button (i think) is only to save a dynamic cubemap to a file. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/98122/?tab=description
We need another mod? Why isn't that in the description or requirements? Would this cause the CTD I get whenever I enable this mod on 1.5.97, even though CS and all other components are updated?
you need dark cubemap textures. There's no one mod out there, the mod I linked just happens to have many black cubemap textures. The description does talk about creating F0 sRGB values or other colors depending on the metal type (like a yellowish for gold materials etc). That ultimately would be up to mod creators to provide.
As for the CTD the only thing i can think of is you need to delete and rebuild the cache
no, I can confirm the Dynamic Cubemap's last update is broken, reverting to the past version (both, this mod and Community Shaders) makes the cubemaps working back, in the last version they are not working, I don't know what version are you guys using but having both versions updated ignores the "enable" option, I hope doodlum uploads a quickfix for this.

Second, request: do you think you can make the eyes transparent like 30% reflection instead chrome like?
BTW, using non-ENB
