I updated the tool to be used with MO. Please reinstall and follow the instruction in the Description page. Now it should only need a few mouse clicks. I don't know and don't want to bother with Vortex so please don't ask me.
Many Dovahkiins PM me for help because my instruction in the Description page is so confusing. Very sorry about it I will try to write a better (non-Engrish) instruction and may update the tool for beast races and Mod Organizer better-compatible (if not too lazy for it)...
I follow the description but when i run uctool.bat i have this message inside : "ERROR: Please set your Skyrim data folder in uctool.bat! Appuyez sur une touche pour continuer...". So, how i set my Skyrim data folder?
If anyone is having trouble, and their log is showing something like "Copying C:\Program" to "files" with the "The system cannot find the file specified" error, this is what I did.
The issue seems to be with file paths containing spaces, and quotes.
Open uctool.bat
Remove all quotation marks in the file
Enter your Skyrim Special Edition\Data path in the UNIQUE_DATA field, with quotation marks. For example: SET UNIQUE_DATA="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data"
Place quotation marks around "character assets" in the SET MESHES_SOURCE line, so the line looks like: SET MESHES_SOURCE=%UNIQUE_DATA%\meshes\actors\character\"character assets"
Run the tool, and it should successfully copy the files.
Hello, sorry i just discovered this wonderful mod together with this very useful tool. I made it work from vortex and my unique femboi body (using 3BA vaginaless mod for unique character mod) and textures are saved, plus i used bodyslide tool to overwrite all clothes/armors for my personal body. Then i changed skin and body for other female npcs and reused bodyslide for their body. The result seemed to work but whenever i get in game i keep having the npcs female body instead of using the unique one i setup. What did i do wrong? I really dont understand, pls i need help!
Unfortunately, I also can't get this to work. MO2 can't identify a data directory, and none of my fiddling is fixing it. Neat idea, but if a 'convenience' mod takes fruitlessly fussing with files to even set up, I may as well stick to the manual method for Unique Character and not bother with this.
EDIT: These are actually Nimloc69's instructions a few pages back! I knew I must have gotten this information from someone, haha. If you're struggling, go back a few pages and try that.
Thank you for the tool, Phoenix Flame! It really comes in handy when I'm trying to decide what body mesh I want to use. I don't have to manually copy it over each time.
I'm starting fresh with mods. I see that a lot of people are having difficulty getting this to work (myself included), but I'm not sure why. It seems that different settings work for different people. Personally, I had to go back and use the old version to get this to work again. The only difference in my uctool.bat that I see is I deleted the quotation marks around the file path. So the top of it looks like SET UNIQUE_DATA=D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data set MESHES_SOURCE=%UNIQUE_DATA%\meshes\actors\character\character assets set MESHES_TARGET=%UNIQUE_DATA%\meshes\actors\character\unique set TEXTURES_SOURCE=%UNIQUE_DATA%\textures\actors\character\ set TEXTURES_TARGET=%UNIQUE_DATA%\textures\actors\character\uniqueAgain, this is using the archived version. So, if you're someone that's having difficulty with the new version, maybe try that. Also, be kind! It can be frustrating when you can't get something to work, but there's almost always more than one way to do something.
Ehh not supporting Vortex is pretty meh, especially when your mod is up on the Nexus... I mean atleast leave the download up for the version that didn't need ANY mod manager...

SET UNIQUE_DATA=".."
That was the only change I made and it worked for me.
@echo off
REM Please set your Skyrim data by removing the "REM" and changing your skyrim Data folder in next line
SET UNIQUE_DATA=""
ERROR: Please set your Skyrim data folder in uctool.bat!
never mind my bad forget to remove REMim following your instructions , running through mo but this is all ive got.
also at installation it tells me that the content of data does not look valid. Any idea?
What's REM?Edit: Nevermind, I found it! It's a line of text found in the uctool file when you open it with notepad :)
