    Version 1.1.0 is now released.

VERY IMPORTANT! If you are updating from an older version, please read the 1.1.0 article! I edited some scripts so things have to be triggered properly to update and not cause problems for you. If you are new to this mod, then you can follow the regular install instructions.

Unfortunate the saga was never finished but I definitely enjoyed it nonetheless!

I think a better way to put it would be to say, "Thank you for making part 1 of the 3 part series, for free. if you find the time it would be really great if you were to complete the series and do parts 2 and 3. Part 1 was so good I can't wait for the next two. Peace". Maybe the author would be a little more motivated if you stated it that way. But that's just my opinion.

3 years, no updates. Think it's safe to say the mod is dead. Shame since what's there is really cool. I was hoping for a continuation to the story.

Hey guys, I'm sorry for my disappearance. I started working on part two a couple months after finishing one but I got too busy and couldn't commit as much time as I used to be able to and I still don't have as much time to put all the hours in to complete this as I envisioned it to be.

When I do have time, I like to instead work on a game in Unreal Engine, the reason for this is the potential to sell the game and also full creative control on what the game could be. I also got tired of the creation engine's long load up times and crashing all the time lol, but I have came across new patches to help fix these issues.

I'm still very bothered that I haven't completed this though so I'm considering options on what I could do. One possibility is to cut part two to be much shorter. I got a new PC too, so I don't even have Skyrim installed anymore, it would take a bit of work to get things all set up again and I would likely have to re-learn a lot of the skills I picked up over time. This isn't a guarantee that I'm going to start working on it though.

If you are curious what the other parts could look like, I thought I could share some overview of my vision. Light spoiler warning though, also things could change as they are made.

      Spoiler:

Part 2 takes place in the secret vault of the vigilant which is a converted dwemer ruin being invaded by the ghost skeletons. Size would be 2 to 3 times larger than part 1. The gameplay here is very vertical, falling down ledges, elevators (I actually have the multi floor elevator functions built already) etc. I also was looking at MGS4 style of gameplay where there was two teams fighting each other and you can choose how to engage with them by either sneaking by, helping out the vigilants or killing both. The end goal is to get a certain item at the bottom of the vault and how you engage with the vigilant affects how you go about getting that item at the end.

Part 3 is where you finally enter the portal. This has been a worry for me when releasing part 2 and people getting frustrated that they are still being teased that they can't enter the portal haha. This part would be pretty big and dense like maybe over 5 times larger than part 1. Takes place in another dimension and the aim is to find out who created this place. I wanted the gameplay here to have that interconnected dungeon feel that Dark Souls does really well. Lots of variants in the tile-sets too, nord ruins, marshlands, an undead town with shops etc. It wouldn't feel like a linear dungeon, but more like a hub world of connected dungeons that can be solved in different order. The gameplay would also take in account your teleporting ability in the level design, so you would see some unique stuff there not seen in Skyrim. I also had plans for some mini bosses and of course you meet the big bad (with a twist). I also wanted you to have some choices and influence on the outcome, which would permanently affect the world of Skyrim too.

So just to get an idea on the work involved in this, if I remember correctly, part one took me around 600 hours to make which also included learning all the features of the engine. So part two could theoretically take 1200-1800 and three 3,000 if I keep my original scope and quality standards. So that is a challenging undertaking, especially when having other commitments. When I made part one, I didn't have any vision, just wanted to build a hot-spring cave but kept adding and adding to the lore as I went on. That's why things get more interesting as you delve deeper hahah. So making part one wasn't intimidating in a way, since the vision was being made as I was building. Of course I would be faster as I learn more, but still it is a lot of work. I also can't do a sloppy job with my mods, they have to look and feel like Bethesda made them or else I keep working on them until they do.

Sorry if this is a downer, but trust me, I'm much more bothered that this isn't completed than anyone who has played this. I don't know what will happen with this mod yet but I thought I'd at least owe you guys an explanation with what has been going on with me. If I do continue making this, I might just make it for SSE as that will give me one less thing to worry about and bug test. I hope that won't upset players of Oldrim but with SKSE on SSE now, I don't see much point in using Oldrim. I would have to see if the SSE engine is faster and better with the patches.

I also want to say I really am honored by the passion you all have for this mod! I'm glad that I managed to make something that players are interested to see more of. Thank you again for playing it. "It's the half life of skyrim" ouch that one got me lol

Same here. This is one of the few really cool looking mods that has very few bugs in it. I hope the author makes a part 2.

Almost 2 years since the last post from the author on this one, probably safe to say it is dead.

I'm so sad, it really was a great dungeon, with interesting ideas on progression and environnement.

Hey ! Great mod so far, but wearing the horns upon defeating the boss doesn't unlock the final door for my character. I used TCL to get through it, but the portal still rejects me.
Edit : ok, this is normal ! It was a great dungeon, and an interesting boss. Thank you.

The mod ends without making it obvious. It leaves you with a note that can be perceived as a puzzle but there is no way to enter through the door to portal. Why do not inform players that this is the end?

I loved it, damn too short! It really asks for more! I just say I understand the  old "brutal" comments here that asked for next acts... I don't want to write the same but I strongly understand them eh eh :)

I came looking for copper, I found gold.
Really a nice mod, nice building, nice ambient, facts are explained without being overly verbose, named characters that have something to "say". It's really good.
    (hoping for part 2...)

This is really good, just played through it today, would be great to see the next 2 chapters as it ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger :O

Agreed. The dungeon was very well made.
I spent around 2 hours poking around Skyrim trying to figure out what the Solemn Keep was before coming back here and seeing that there's no such thing.
I was disappointed when I discovered it's a cliffhanger and we wouldn't be able to enter the final room with the portal. Hopefully this gets continued and isn't just abandoned and left to rot.

I really enjoyed this mod from start to episodic finish. I look forward to the next chapters if/when they're available. I very much like the storytelling and I was pleasantly surprised at what's been revealed so far, as well as what's been alluded to. I liked how the encounters were part of the story rather than feeling just dropped in for the sake of something to fight. Thanks for sharing this adventure.
