Make your own patch for Archery, with SSEEdit, using a new blank .esp. The pictures show the vanilla Projectile in SSEEdit. Select your new arrows and change the Gravity, Speed and Sound Level. That's it!
To make things more interesting I tweaked the speed and gravity of all arrows regarding their material and purpose. So practice, steel, iron and other standard arrows have a 0.9G (a slight buff that I think was needed) and 5.000 speed. The heavier ones, like daedric or dwarven are more war oriented and thus they have 0.95G and 4.500 respectively, the lighter ones, elven and glass are 0.85 and 5.500. So gameplay wise you must memorize your ammo. The differences are no so big, but enough to feel it. Also I nerfed the war arrows because I think they were too OP.
On the special side, bound arrows have not gravity and trajectoy is flat.
Also bolts are tweaked to mimic the flatter trajectory and speed. Of course this 1st person tweak is needed.
To further enhance archery PACE and Simply Balanced are needed. With PACE we can tweak the draw time of every bow, I feel vanilla stats are not very realistic. With Simply Balanced we can set an offset to damage to reduce the exaggerated differences between bows. In fact is the strength of the bower and not the bow itself what dictates the damage output. Also the related perks increase damage, mimicking the effects of training and strength gains.
I forgot to mention that crossbows draw time with PACE are nerfed to 6 or even 5 because in RL they are awfully slow to recharge. So no more machine guns. Bows are roughly at 8, it's more the time to aim than the drawing itself which dictates the speed chosen.
You don't suck at aiming, it's just your eyes that aren't trained. The point of the mod "Archery" is precisely to aim without hud, and have an arrow trajectory as close as a real bow (within the game engine limitation). Real bows can have visors (compound and olympic bows) but hunting or war bows have not.
Using Archery without the "+" cursor on screen give real sensations, as you must train on targets for a while until your eye "lock" the target correctly. You will take time to look at the arrow first, and then the arrow is just a blurred shape as your eye focus on the target. You can make very quick shots on moving targets without visor, it's called "instinctive shooting". You loose time when you focus on the visor.
I don't know how it is with VR, if you must move the hand to aim? - In this case, don't! Block your arms and move all your upper body, keep always your hands at the same position. Try to grab a plastic bow for children and train for real in your room! you will see it's nearly the same in the game.
If you can use "Jaxonz Archery Util" and "Archery Gameplay Overhaul" on VR, aiming with a bow become more easy. Jaxonz mod allow to correct the aiming point, Gameplay Overhaul correct the bow position (the vanilla arrow point when standing is misplaced, too much on the left)
Here is a video I made when making the mod, aiming without hud. It's a reward to hit without aiming cursor!
Is this mod adding a "Vampire Fledgling"? I have some issues with 1 vampire NPC that keeps spawning over and over (I mean a different vamp with the same facegen) and checking the console it says it's added by this mod. However that seems very weird to me, so yeah, can anyone confirm?
Hi, this mod only modify a few arrow parameters, not the bow. Adding a sway to the bow is an entire different thing as it would require an animation file and would be a different mod.
The way you push the bow while draw the string naturally block your arms. You mainly miss the target for other reasons than sway: not pushing the bow when releasing the string, bad release of the string, moving your arm when releasing etc. In game, you can keep the bow drawed for hours, but in real life, you just draw it when necessary - it's very quick to draw and shoot.
By experience using bows and crossbows ( and even guns), there's nearly no sway for the bow while you must fight to keep crossbows/guns still.

Arrows
Bolts
thanks for the mod :)
Is it save to deactivate the mod midgame, or can it break bow / arrow related stuff?
From what little I understand of how this mod works, it should be safe? ^^
Cheers

Thank You

settings in Skyrim.ini recommended to use with this mod ?
[Combat]
f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7
f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7
f1PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.7
f3PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.7
Which also affect gravity I believe. Loving the mod so far, just not sure if it's fully working as intended in my game.
under VR settings I have “an archery” tab like realistic? Does that remove it? Cause I suck at aiming lol

I miss being a archery sniper from a few hundred yards in Skyrim SE! heck in VR everything is a pixel blur at 50 yards lol
NPC spawn can be from mods editing leveled lists.
Any plans to add a little bit of bow sway? Something less than Kingdom Come Deliverance and more akin to Far Cry Primal.
