Looking forward to this. I would to see her hit the 3000+ dialogue line mark. A detailed complex questline would also be great! Skyrim NEEDS more complex female follower mods instead of baseless, helpless damsels in distress that just thirst over the player. As a guy, it's cool at first but then it just gets boring after a while lol. Follower mods like M'rissi, Lucien and Inigo are great examples of in-depth followers. Will be tracking. :)

If you have her wait, she'll have an optional quest marker you can toggle on her in your quest menu. Next update I'm adding a summon spell which I think will help out a bit more.
I think SilverStorm said a while back, the update is like.... 85% complete.... so should not be too long now until the updated version drops, but even if its six months from now, if it means a better more immersive, deeper, follower experience, that actually works, I'm good.
With all the followers that have been made for this game now, it is incredibly hard to do something original, and this seems to be, story wise, what the author has done here, with this character. That is awesome.
There's a lot of similarities between so many even great mods, a lot of comparisons get made. SDA-Serana compared to Vilja..... Remiel compared to Lucien (both also share concept similarities with Aeowyn from Mistborn).... Xelzaz and Lucifer....(the former also sharing certain aspects of his personality, and nature with Aurlyn Dawnstone, without being slightly Mary Sue).... Recorder and Sofia, Daegon and Morgaine, Kaidan and Gore.... I mean there's so many with so many comparisons. Someone like Inigo hits a unique niche, or so you could say, but I am surprised he is not compared to Sa'Chil all the time these days, so even there....Mrissi and Sa'Chil could have fleeting comparisons made too. Maybe Mirai is a bit unique.... but kinda Ambriel in canon busting, chosen 'Princeess' archetype too, so maybe not either.
Possibly, maybe, out of all the followers I have.... MAYBE just maybe.... Val Serano, Lyssia, and Elana are unique, with no followers quite like they, to compare them to? That is subjective of course, because I do not have some other well liked custom voiced followers like Nebarra, or Thogra-whats-her-tits.
But Malryn is the first person of her kind, with her story being rooted in a genesis from that culture and peoples, and from the little I got from her, a personality and perspective based on that.. that I have seen. Even when such people play such a significant role in many of the stories in the game, can I make friends with one? Can I woo one? Date one? Doont one? Not in the vanilla game. Can I do those things with mods? Well none of the mod followers of a calibre I want to spend time with, are those people so, I guess not with mods either.
Will Malryn thread that needle, hit all the beats of believably being who and what she is meant to be and that be the experience you have playing with her? I have no effing idea. But I am willing to wait and take a gamble, even the wait is long... for that potentially unique character and what she might add to the experience of my playthrough.
Found two bugs in game. First one is I don't know if you haven't recorded these dialogues but there are dialogues that are just completely silent. Like I said no clue if it's cause you haven't recorded it yet or it's bugged. The second one is that some subtitles have that square box in it. It's probably cause of the apostrophe not written in. The only fix for this would be to go to the dialogue in CK and retype the apostrophe again. Knew this from a followers tutorial video
Found another bug. Probably something have to do in the modlist I'm using but Malryn will not wear the armour I gave to her. She would but she'd wear other armors in her inventory as well as the armors I gave to her. Other followers I have seem to not have this problem. I'll reply to this comment what mod does that that also influence Malryn
The silent lines are a known bug which is going to be fixed in the next update. SilverStorm has already said that.
As things stand now, Malryn's niggle and bugs are all being addressed, and I think some extra features added, who knows how long that will take, but sound like, from what she said, the author found fixing some things, broke other things, so then had to fix them. I get the impression next update is one which she wants to be totally bug free and to have addressed all the issues in totality so it is just about growing the mod going forwards.
So we all just need be patient. I am sure in time, an update, addressing all the issues, will be posted. From the little she was able to give me, in my playthrough with her, there's so much potential there, I reckon it'll be wholly worth the wait.
Yea hopefully those issues I mentioned are addressed. Malryn got the potential to be up there with the likes of Inigo and Auri. Hoping I can update her mid game since I'm way into my current playthrough
Hello:) The unvoiced dialogue bug has been fixed and will ship next update. The armor thing is semi intentional. Give her anything with an armor rating above leather and she'll take it. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

The problem with the armour is that the modlist I'm using gives more armour to Malryn's inventory automatically and even if I gave her an armour set with Legendary upgrades she won't just use that armour but she'll use that and the armors given to her inventory. Other followers doesn't seem to be affected by this so only Malryn does it. If you want I can send a screenshot of her inventory
I suspect that the armor starting value might have to outstrip leather. Or in this case, you might have to take the new, stronger armor that your mod gives her from her. I would need to look a little more into how the game engine treats augments to be sure though.
I do take em away but she keeps getting more added back. It's weird. I never had this problem with any other followers. Just odd that's all. Like I said I'll join the Discord server of the modlist I'm using and ask around what mod does that and try report back
I do not use any mods which buff armour, or redistribute any assets to any NPC or the PC, or anything like that... and I have never once had an issue with Malryn not taking armour I give her. Anything about her default leather, in terms of armour rating.. is instantly equipped... and more, if enchanted, it does not even need be armour... I am reasonably sure I have a dress ensemble from one of my mods, dress shoes and gloves, custom jewelry... which I enchanted, and she put it on immediately.
Much better to use Smithing and Enchanting mods, and down load a cheat chest of materials for both, and MAKE OP armour, when and as you need it, and then a difficulty mod to make enemies tougher if that is what you want.... than use a default OP buffing mod, which applies new OP values to all armours in game by default, because those mods always seem to mess with something. Sure you wind up downloading four or five mods instead of one overhaul AIO type mod.... and have to actually go do a few seconds work to get the OP stuff happening by making it..... but you avoid the nightmare of tracking down what mod, or more often, what module within a comprehensive overhaul mod, is causing the issue.
Malryn told me that she had something to say to me but we neededmore privacy. When we went to my player home she just says “ How fractured do you think the Empire is now?” and then nothing else happens. No additional new dialogue shows. If I leave and try again to talk to her later in another location the same phrase is repeated without any way to progress. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
I had this problem, you have to make sure she is a house, or out in the wild... in a private setting in other words.... and then she'll tell you a little something something... but even when she does, nothing more will come from it, read SilverStorm's reply to my comment below this one.
There's an update in the works, apparently, but the author encountered some hurdles (mentioned breaking horses), so I would imagine that one shall need wait until all the bugs that came about through fixing all the previous bugs, are ironed out. Seems SilverStorm is being thorough, and does not want to make the same mistakes twice, which is awesome.
I am longing to see where this follower goes too, but it will need wait until the update.
I also tried Malryn with a second character that had notcompleted the Forsworn Conspiracy quests and after escaping the mine and going into my home the first part of Malryn’s personal quest did trigger but went didn’t go past the point after she says she will continue later. After that she would just give me the familiar “How fractured do you think the empire is now” whenever inside my player home. I guess I will just have to wait for the update. She definitely seems to have a lot of potential so I will look forward to the update.
The others basically covered what's going on, however I'm curious. Is "how fractured do you think the empire is now?" The only thing she'll say as a greeting?
I meant that when I initiate a conversation with her when I first enter the home or inn that's what she is saying. I hoped that it might be a lead-in for further personal story dialogue but it would stop there so I didn't know the significance of that line. When I try to talk to her again she says something else. While typing this reply I finally found that line in the esp using sseedit. I see it's part of the civilwarhellos dialogue. I have no idea why she would be saying that line in the player home or an inn. I finished the civil war long before I recruited Malryn. At least now I know it's not part of her personal story. Looking forward to the update.
Ok. So it is probably me, and my mod load... but I cannot get ANYTHING out of Malryn, after her first confession and reveal of who she *really* is.
I know that she has two more conversations about that... given after a day or so, so long as you are in the right environs for it, as per the initial conversation, but I cannot for the life of me, get them to trigger, at all. This is the second time I waited days and days in game after the original revelation conversation, and taken her to a private place (a home), and tried to trigger anything more. It just does not happen.
Now I am sure this is my mod list, it must be.... but it SHOULD NOT be.
I know that seems kinda oxymoronic... but I have never had this with any other followers.
People complain about followers being broken all the time... and most of the time, it is the users fault. I have no issues, and no conflicts with any of mine, and I have all the big names.
Vilja, SDA Serana, Remiel, Auri, Mirai, Recorder, Sophia, Aurlyn Dawnstone, Elana and her Friends, Livia Salvian, Lyssia, Daegon, Sa'Chil, Inigo, Lucien, Kaidan, Gore, Khash, Lucifer.... they all work FINE in my game. Well stage three of Sa'Chil's quest can still break my game if I am not careful, it seems, but therre's no other real issues, Vilja's romance arc, has some moments which lag, and take forever to play out (like the wedding).... but these are known issues that happen when they are the only mod you have. ALL their dialogue, all their missions, all their everything.... WORKS.
Loot says that is normal, as there is NO conflicts. Including registering anything with Malrym.
But she just will NOT work.
Am I missing something here? Are there additional conditions? What are the other two triggers for her personal quest? Can we get a guide?
I really want to explore this mod, this follower, there seems to be a lot of potential, and a lot to like..... but I am just NOT able to, what am I missing?
The good news is that it's not your load order. The bad news is that I accidentally made that part VERY temperamental and am in the process of fixing it. (first time mod author, still figuring this stuff out) I've got the conditions fixed on my dev copy, but the fix won't ship until I drop the next content update. (about 85% implemented, still need to test it) Also I'm making a guide document that I'll publish with the next content update, which should hopefully help things as well
I love what she is so far. At least superficially... I love almost all her combat prowess.... (but she needs a fighting menu... I play a sniper archer, max sneak, Nightingale shinobi ninja tryhard... and having the ability to make her bound bow be her go to when we're sneaking would rock... right now her summons at worse possible time, always give me away :P )..... I love 'acting'... the tone, tinbre, intonation, the cadence of her idiolect....for a first time modder, and amatuer, it is wonderful......I love the voice too, its endearing and cute (I am sure it is awkward AF for modders voicing the follower they make themselves to hear that, but a selling point is a selling point :P, sorry)..... I love her commentary, what there is of it.... and she looks amazing too, at least with my game, I know things can effect that, but she's smexy as in my game.
I also love the angle. The character. We do not really get to meet or have any meaningful relationship with any ...people like her.... in the game, and no one has made a mod that gives us one, that I know of, until now. That has a lot of potential, and as much allure as she herself.
I was just getting a little frustrated trying to crack the surface, and get more from her than few dozen radiant idles, and the small pool of 'about yourself' comments. I knew there was 1000 lines of dialogue, at least, but I felt like I had seen maybe 100, maybe 150 if we include the Madanach interaction and her 'confession' pursuant to that.
I will hold off rating/judging her now, until the next update. I eagerly look forwards to it, whenever it arrives.
