LATEST UPDATE: 1.1 Crafting Book "A Crafting Guide for Hunter's Gear" added to tanning rack needed to show recipes now to reduce recipe bloat. 3 New shields, Fixed weapon materials so they scale better when tempering (Temper gear again after update to see increase in weapon DMG. Scaled early gear to steel and late Master gear to Ebony). Master Deer Axe added (was skipped in original release). ESL flagged.
Next update will add more. I will place a list here of things to expect as I go along:
-A Fur Crafting book that will cost 1 leather to unlock all recipes to prevent bloat at tanning rack: "Hunter's Gear Recipes" Once held, you can craft all items. Food items will stay active without book. (Added in current versions.)
-Make a Recipe patch for For Hunterborn Scrimshaw (Finished)
Any ideas are welcome. I would love feedback. My Holiday Vacation ends today, but I will keep working on this.
hey dude I dont know if its a bug or intended to be like this... I cant craft Horker items when I loot horker I got horker tusk as ingredient not as Miscellaneous Item ...and thats why it dont show up ... I have 6 ones in my inventory but your mod does not recognise them because they count as ingredients...
may a bug? Im using CACO and Hunterborn as well...
I don't use CACO. So I would have to create a patch. Is Horker tusk the only item that was changed to Misc of my recipes? Thanks for the feedback. As far as Hunterborn goes, you won't get any of the heads probably from animals I'm guessing? I know for that, the work around was to add the heads to hunters that sell items in the world.
I will download CACO as soon as I can with my mod and alter the horker recipes to use the ingredient version, then post a patch for it.
*So the only thing that uses the tusk from when I went in to work a patch was the Spike Shields. All other horker related uses the Horker Head, not tusk. What are you crafting? Have you tried to look for horker heads sold on hunters? Hunterborn blocks my Head drops from all animals and dragon. Let me know more details. Thank you. Also, to edit drops from Hunterborn, is difficult, that's why hunters sell them. I probably won't be patching the drop list on hunterborn right away. So yes, find a hunter that sells stuff and hope for horker head. Sorry it isn't ideal at the moment.
I DLed ur patch but it had not changed it for me. I have hunterborn but I also have quick loot so I can get your animal heads easily . That wasnt my problem. Problem was when i try to craft for example a "hunters bone greatsword" the ingredient "Horker Tusk" that I have does not show up ... Am I doing something wrong maybe? E.g. I have 6 horker tusks in my inventory and 4 iron ingots but when I try to craft an hunters bone dagger at the tanning rack it says I have none of the horker tusks and therefor I cant craft them. Other items works well only horker tusk related items do not. Could you maybe make a patch/alternative to craft the "hunter tusk" related stuff with "bone meal" instead? That would be huge!"
You say they use head not tusk... for some reason they do use tusk (in my game), so maybe its buggy here? ... should I share a screenshot with you? Also the Hunters that I asked for (What have you got for sale) do have none of your gear in their selling inventory, how high is the chance that they are selling your stuff?
Not gonna lie, this looks awesome. Lots of potential here! Would you consider making a patch for Hunterborn? This kinda stuff would fit perfectly with the Scrimshaw crafting! And if I may also ask, will you be doing armors as well? I'd love to see more fur armor/clothing variety. Downloaded and tracking! :D
Hunterborn is something I will look into. Seems kind of hard to implement though and this works great with Hunting in Skyrim, which I have been using. Though I do like hunterborn. As far as armors, I would love to, but the reason I avoid it for now is because I would have to consider making countless bodyslides. I personally use 3ba and generally know how to make 3ba slides. but it will be considered. Thank you for tracking! I'll keep working on it over time.
I'm unsure about editing levelled lists and making certain items lootable (with or without hunterborn), but I believe integrating the items into the scrimshaw crafting should be as simple as changing the workbench that the crafting recipes use. As for the armors, that's completely understandable. If by countless bodyslides, you mean for body types other than 3ba (I use it too :D), perhaps you could outsource the creation of bodyslides for your armors and those bodytypes. I'm sure there will be people willing to do this, either as a favor or simply because they like your mod :D

Thank you for supporting Campfire! In terms of Hunterborn, I've found it's a bit tricky to get the correct pelts and death items because it takes some care using the Hunterborn patcher (zedit or the synthesis version) to make sure that items are included in Hunterborn's formlists. And then you have to be sure to configure the MCM correctly otherwise you won't see mod added death items or pelts.
Unfortunately, I didn't do one in the release version, but I will in the next update. I'm sure I'll be adding to it. That would make sense, considering I have the normal fur shields. :O
No problem. Just to be sure, I already added it with it's recipe and temper. Wasn't hard, I just remove the branch of the skull in nifskope and save it as a new nif, then add it to the mix. To keep it balanced though, it's 1 less base armor than the skull version. I did this for all my fur shields though. Can't tell you when the next update will be. I want to add a good bit before I do, so that way it's more to look forward to. :)
Amazing creations! They just seem a little too much with the whole heads as shields, would like it a lot more with tusks and fangs as spikes for the shields instead and so on, but to each their own :)
Ya, it's pretty insane, but there are shields without heads and some with just skulls, troll skull and deer skull. As far as other random bones, I could add some in future update. Still learning some bodyslide to nifksope skills as I go. I don't know blender though. That would unlock everything. :P I like the idea as tusks and fangs as spikes. I'll consider adding something like that in the next update.
