Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.
Thank you to everyone who has given this mod a try. I never expected nearly 500 downloads for this little mod. I'm glad I was able to provide something to help the modding community that has provided me with so much.
UPDATE 12/6/18 I'm glad many of you are still finding this simple mod to be beneficial. On the front page I mention two other mods that became available with SKSE was ready. I'm now using Autorun Console Commands SE ( Nexus# 14224) to run the batch file from this mod with one keystroke. I copied the three commands from this mod into one of the .txt files from the Autorun Console Commands mod. It saves a few keystrokes every time I want to use it but does require adding another mod to Mod Organizer. While Autorun Console Commands SE ( Nexus# 14224) can do much more, I only use it to run this mod. If your interesting please check it out.
I wouldn't think that AE would cause an issue. These are just console commands built into the game. However, it would be interesting to know if AE did change something.
Mine was working in AE but other things weren't. I read that MCM Helper had a version 1.6 that fixed the invisible books, but it broke my Free Cam in Flower Girls.
Since I last saw this thread, I've updated my personal game to Skyrim AE and this console command still works. Any issue using this console command would not be directly related to AE.
Hello. I am experiencing the same issue regarding the movement of the dragonborn during flowergirls scenes but the inability to truly move the free cam. This only occurs during the scenes and the "bat c" command works as intended outside of flowergirls scenes. I am unsure what the root of this issue is. The normal free cam also does not function properly during FG scenes either but properly otherwise.
I'm not certain why Flower Girls would cause an issue. It has it's own "Camera" that I never got to work correctly. Make sure that camera isn't being used by mistake.
How do I use this mod? 1. To use the free camera open the command console, type "bat c", and press enter.
The command console is normally opened by selecting the tilde key located next to the " 1 " at the top of the keyboard.
2. To end the free camera, repeat the process. Open the command console, type "bat c", and press enter.
Your view will automatically jump back to the view from your player character the instance you end the free camera.
Be aware that when going forward the camera will continue going forward until you stop it. You stop it by selecting any direction, including forward again. For example, when I'm trying to get a close up I'll select " D " which is my forward key to start the camera going forward and then type " D " again when I want it to stop.
this is just wonderful. I always have used customizable camera and it's really limited what I can add when it comes to camera stuff, so this is a life saver. Cheers!
I created this simple bat file before SKSE was available for Special Edition. It's not available in the MCM. However, there are now other mods that you can use at the press of a button and can be configured in the MCM. You can configure the bat file settings to your preference.
If you don't use the free camera much and don't want to use a load order spot for a mod then this will still work great. I still use it for those very reasons.
Sorry I meant when trying your autorun console commands suggestion. I was hoping for a hotkey for the commands would work but apparently the original mod is gone and no longer compatible and a new mod similarly name only appears to run commands on load.
Hey, not sure if its this mod. But this is the last mod ive recently installed. After using the BAT C command i am no longer able to enter 1st person camera. Any idea what could be causing this or how to fix?
This mod puts you in the free camera mode which doesn't allow 1st person. You have to run this command a second time to exit free camera. Then you can enter 1st or 3rd person. If you're having the issue after exiting the free camera mode, then I have experienced a similar issue. I cannot use my mouse scroll wheel to switch from 1st to 3rd person but I can switch using a keyboard command. I believe it only happens with I use it with Flower Girls interaction. It may be a conflict with the free camera system built into Flower Girls. I don't think I have the issue when I use the free camera built into Flower Girls. It's been a while since I've looked at this.
I'll look at this tonight to see exactly when I'm having the issue and how I get out of it. If you can provide me more details on what's going on in your game when you have the issue then let me know.
This seems to work well for what I wanted, but I noticed that when I exited by running "bat c" again to resume normal gameplay, I had lost control of my zoom (I use mouse wheel to zoom in and out) and my forward key (I use right mouse button.) The only keys that still worked were the strafe right and left. I only got things back by exiting the game and restarting. What would cause this?
The EPC command doesn't work. I can't get my character to go back to the way she was.
I saw your post but thought you had resolved it with the EPC command. Ideally, when my little mod runs the ecp command it should resolved this issue.
Are all the commands that stop working on your mouse? I'm wondering if it's an issue just with the mouse. When the mod Flower Girls added a free camera hot key, sometimes when I exit the animation my scroll wheel no longer moves between 1st and 3rd person. So that's why I'm wondering if it may be something with the mouse commands. You could try moving the forward commands to the keyboard just to test.
My little mode runds the EPC command when going into free camera and when exiting free camera. Perhaps there's an issue with using EPC when going into and when exiting the camera. If you go into the console and type tfc to activate the camera and then use my bat c to exit, I wonder if that would make a difference?
Other than these steps I don't have any great idea. You could try removing mods to see if there's a conflict there. There are now other Free Camera mods so you could try one of those.
Sandatharius and I were communicating in a PM and he discovered there was an issue with the mod "Dance for Septims" which appears to be causing the issue. I wanted to post this in case anyone else is having a similar issue.
Doesnt work in vr. not sure if im doing something wrong. i tryed it in nmm and manual install. bat c crashes just like tfc. if i run the hotkey, nothing happens. if i pull up the console command it says free cam does not work in vr. so if it is vr supported, any incite would be great. if not, does anyone know of a way to run free cam in vr? i have vr skse, as well as skui se vr, fnis vr, as well as papyrus vr. and racemenu. all mods work. except this one. as far as manual install, i placed the file in the directory where any .ddl goes. didnt work. then i moved it to the data folder. that didnt work either.
