For those of you who are seriously playing with the items in this mod, I'd like some feedback on balancing. I didn't do too much testing so is there anything that seems either too powerful or underwhelming?
Keep in mind a few things though:
1) Even though there are no restrictions on when you can start the quest, this mod is aimed for later game players. So if you get to the point where you are starting to see glass and ebony weapons/armor along with the occasional daedric/dragonbone, you're at the right point in the game to start.
2) Most weapons and the armor are balanced according to the ebony tier. So compare them to that.
3) The Storm Axe is balanced to be akin to a legendary quality dragonbone waraxe with a unique enchantment. If it feels like it is too much, I'll nerf it.
Having a strange issue where the woman won't show up at all. I go to the hammerfell border, where there is a dead Thalmor Cadet next to a unique item on the ground; Renfri's axe.
I appreciate all the work you put into this mod, but I have to say the whole "hunt for the right key" thing was pretty annoying. I found the key that unlocked the basement door (not without the spoiler you provided here, though). And I figured out how to get the upstairs key. But then I could not find a door that the upstairs key would unlock. I wound up just using the console to get through all the rest of the doors, because at that point I was too irritated to continue running around looking for keys. I haven't even gotten to the goodies yet! I'm sure they'll be worth all this trouble, but I wanted to contribute my two cents in case you ever consider reworking the "keys" quest. Thanks.
Looks cool, would've been cooler if the chainmail armor stopped before the waist, I saw a few others do that with nifscope this looked like it did that but nah, still looks cool tho.
Well I found it, since you don't seem to wanna spoil things I won't say where but I guess one of my mods somehow overwrote the loot of the thing that the Chainmail is normally contained in, after fiddling with my load order a bit and starting over I found it. Cool mod neat items and all that finding that first key nearly gave me a conniption though.
Personally I love this mod and everything in it. The only issue I have is how awkward it is to actually throw the axe and have it hit someone...although that might just be an issue on my end. Either way even with that its still a great mod. Its amazing how well the Old Ebony Chainmail fits in to the skyrim world (Witcher 3 Ursine armor).
I love this mod so much (even though I've only been playing for 45 minutes or so. What would make me love it even more is if I could find the key to get past a gate in the palace type area! I checked the oldrim thread of this mod and you were giving people hints, so I was a wondering if I could have a couple. You have clues about a cheese wedge and a frame of some sort, but the cheese wedge one isn't very helpful because I took it before I had a chance to look, and I don't understand the frame one. I've searched every nook and cranny, so I'm pretty confused! If you could give me any clue at all, that'd be great, thank you! (Sorry if there are grammar issues, I'm writing this on my phone!)
I'm still very confused! Obviously I'm not smart enough to figure it out...the pantry is the room with the two shelves, correct? Because if so, I've searched every nook and cranny! Thanks so much for the quick response by the way!
I'm just gonna spoil it because I'm kinda worried if you did look in the right place but it may have been knocked off or something.
Spoiler:
Show
Check above the doorframe in the small room that has the window in it. If it's not there then open up console and click on the door in that room (not the gates). just type "unlock" and you should be able to proceed down a staircase to progress.
Loved the mod, and it was so satisfying reaching the end! I also made a quick mod spotlight of it here, if you wanted to check that out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqKS94fedOM Thanks!
