Update 1.0a -- Reverted naming convention to Skyrim one to help compatibility patch porting to SE for modders.
GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING 0. Read the front page, look at the install video, follow instructions from Fail Safe Install.
1. Make sure you use Original Game Launcher at least on the first run of UFO.
2. Delete *.pex files from your data/scripts folder. Use the list from front page for reference.
3. Pull UFO last in load order. As in bottom most. Downward most.
4. If something is conflicting install/uninstall will not fix, only 1/2/3 steps might.
5. Going a save back before the issue happened, after you have corrected the issue by 1/2/3 steps, is a good idea.
6. Read Install Info from front page.
7. If your follower count does not match your actual followers, dismiss all followers, type: show playerfollowercount ---if it is not 0 type-- set playerfollowercount to 0 --play on--
I have always used UFO for the past 5 years, yes, only UFO, not AFT, EFF, NFF and others, I have found a problem solver for followers which is because it is difficult to go because the follower frame has problems or someone needs to try to find the core of the problem or update ..If that's the case, I'll just give it so that followers who are using the UFO framework can go, you use mod organizer2 ( first step 1 go to the entrance it's loading after it's finished then exit the game, uncheck SKYui and UFO then go to the game continue until you load the game and CTD Crash to Desktop ) and then Step 2 re-check SKYui and UFO then enter the game continue and load again that means Ufo is working well again like the initial installation and followers who were hard to leave can now go after you have tried it dismissed 2 or 3 times ..... finished
I like the UFO because it allows followers to be more free and unlimited, such as adding lots of AI to NPCs, gestures, comments, abilities, free combat while following along the way... It seems like it can be infinitely applied to other latest NPC mods
This is by far the worst follower framework I have ever used. Followers are randomly dismissed without commands, gear disappears and followers become unarmed or naked, and for some reason I have to tell new followers to follow like 10 times before they listen just to be dismissed on their own anyway. Uninstalled and switched to a different mod and everything now works perfectly. No more issues, no more naked/unarmed followers, and no random leaving. 100% this mod causing that. No compatibility issues either since this is the only follower mod I use...well use to anyway.
[bug] The mod is great, but I can't get rid of any follower. I say "It's time to set us apart", the NPC says it's goodbye phrase but keep following me.
Update: I uninstalled the mod and I can leave followers again. It hasn't been updated since 2019, too bad.
Hi everyone. I can't dismiss my followers, they just don't listen. I HAVE NO RDO. set PlayerFollowerCount to 0 don't work at all. command show PlayerFollowerCount before set to 0 shows me 1 follower then 0 after setting to 0 but no changes in game. I'm very angry because I'm hate using followers like a personal shadows I use them when I need them, no more! And I have another issue - when I try get armors to Jenassa she use just boots and ignore gauntlets and cuirass despite my armor is better and it's her type of armor. Maybe there is no connection between this issues. Anyway the second issue is unimportant for me. I JUST WANT NORMALLY DISMISSING THEM! I love this mod, I always use it when reinstall my game but now I have this odd problem and really mad because I want to play not starting and restarting for hours but I don't know what to do with this now :(
UPD - I don't know how but I fix this problem. I reinstall this mod before but now I reinstall it without translation mod. Looks like the russificator was a problem. Not sure how it works. Anyway I can play without any translation; I install translations just for sameness in text. Holy sh... how much time I spend trying to fix the issue
My friend, I wish you good luck, prosperity and really enjoyable life. Your command have fixed Lydia for me, which was broken before because of my poor mods managing. I've searched for a lot of time for fix elsewhere, there're also some people with similar problem that I had, no solutions were helped before you came here and wrote your message. My dearest thanks to you. Let the God guide you on the good path, whoever you are.
Once the top follower overhaul out there, tried it again and even with the instructions and troubleshooting this one is really outdated. Still usable, but most unique followers will break it. Still good when use in vanilla followers. The main problem I encountered is I can't dismiss some custom follower with it.
This mod is almost perfect! The only problem is that whenever I select an option the NPC doesn't respond anything (obviously). But unfortunately this breaks the immersion. Can you make it so that when you select any option the NPC should resond with "Yes?" and when you tell the NPC to do something he would resond with "Ok."?
Example: You: "You know...", NPC: "Yes?". "Study that book" NPC: "Ok. Every NPC has a "Yes." or "No." or "Ok." voiceover. Is it possible to integrate that in your mod? It would make it perfect in my opinion. Like, just something simple like that.

How about add a spell/item "Whistle to recall waiting followers"?
Then all waiting followers will teleport near you and running to you?
Anyone know if there is source code somewhere? Maybe I can see if I can contribute to this awesome project?
