Here's a bunch of frequently asked questions (seriously, some of these gets asked every 2 posts) that should hopefully answer your questions before you decide to ask something that has already been answered (likely several times).
Q:Can I turn this into an .esl? A: The answer is most likely yes. This feature is after my time as a modder, but from my understanding it should be like 99% possible without issue. Just accept I cannot provide any potential support after you've done so.
Q: CAN U PLX PUT ON BETESTHA.NET?!=!!11 A: Sure... it's already there at: Beards [XB1] at Bethesda.net
Q: Do I need to use the .esp? A: No. I recommend you do however, there's no particular reason you shouldn't. If it's a maxed out load order you're concerned about: 1) You're modding wrong, you should never have that many mods installed. 2) If you absolutely must, you can use TES5Edit to merge minor mods together (such as this one, with, for example Brows and other similar mods).
Q: PLX MAEK THIS OR THIS ONE BEARD!11 A: You didn't bother read the description, did you? I'll make new beard styles eventually.
Q: R U GONA RETEX KHAJIIT BEARDS??! A: The sideburn/mane beards are included within Beards. The whiskers/mustaches are part of hair textures and will thus be found in my upcoming Hairs mod.
Q: WUT?!? COLORZ OF HAIR AND BEARDS NO MATCH?!?!?!?!11!11one A: This is intended. That's how Bethesda made it, and I intend to keep it that way. In real life, we rarely have the same beard and hair color, especially if we have a brighter hair color. It's not uncommon to have a hint of red in your beard, if you're blonde, dark blonde, or even darker.
FYI this doesn't work with High Poly Heads, even if you have the Beards for High Poly Head mod installed. You still have to install the fix "Beards by Hvergelmir for High Poly Heads" which is at: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/65920?tab=posts&BH=0
Time to revisit game as Fenriz reincarnation once again. Too bad can't find some really long beards around. Fenriz with ZZ Top style beards would be epic.
These are pretty old screenshots. I would have said they were my own WIP work (they looked amazing, but unfortunately the HDD died and I lost the work files). I think it's probably one of the top scar mods on here.
I do have a problem with most bear/brow/hair mods because it's really hard to get good gray/white hairs (since the textures are usually blonde).
For hairs, I've found a solution in Vanilla Hair - Salt and wind Grayscale. ο»ΏFor your mod, there isn't anything similar, afaik. So I edited the textures to be in grayscale instead of blonde. I'd like to know if I can share them as a mod here on Nexus. Based on your perms, I think it's ok, since I'm gonna credit you and include your mod as a requirement.
But I thought I should ask first based on this: "As a rule of thumb, as long as you don't include all or most of the textures from one of my Aesthetic mods in your mod, you're good to go." I did edit half of your textures (everything except the _n.dds ones). So that's a lot of textures, but people would still need to download the original file.
Also, I am gonna opt out of donations. All my mods are small patches and I opted out of donations on all of them. If I get the lifetime premium from unique downloads I'm gonna be more than satisfied.
I understand your frustration, but I made the deliberate choice back then to not include or supply an alternative for greyscale textures, as it would fundamentally change the look of many characters in game.
The permissions tab clearly states that I do not allow edit or usage of all of my textures from one of my aesthetics series mods. In this case that would be all the beard textures. The logic is that such a mod would essentially render my mods useless. My technique or approach to get white or greyscale hair is moving into to the blue tints to counter the vanilla blonde textures. It has worked wonders for me.
I might provide a greyscale variant, potentially as a modders resource (for NPC edits for example) in the future, if I find the motivation to mod Skyrim again and I work on my aesthetics mods series. No promises though.
I understand it might be frustrating, but for that reason I cannot allow edits of my work to be distributed.
Hi! I always used the blue approach, but the results are nowhere the same. Grayscale, indeed, messes with the colors of all NPCs (blonde becomes gray, grey gets closer to blue), which forces me to edit a lot of NPCs.
Anyway, since you made it explicit, I will take down my mod. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I might try my hand upscaling and editing vanilla textures later.
The inconvenience is entirely yours in this case, and my apologies for that. If I get around to it, I'll make an effort to providing grayscale textures as an alt option for the few that'll want it / modders ressource.
That's a fair alternative, if you have no ability to make / draw your own textures.
Legit. I am a small mod author and I would let anyone use my mod and make a new variant. Saves me the time. I will not be downloading this mod knowing that this is the stance of the mod author. The person was clearly acting in good faith and the mod author is not. Deplorable.
Hey sorry to be a pain is there any chance that a patch could be made for this it works with COtR - HQ Characters creation addon for RM - i would try but unsure how to do it my self or if any permissions would need to be required first. Many thanks for your awesome mod.
CoTR brings Skyrim on another level of realism, it really needs a functionnal middle and long-beard mod. I cannot understand why there is no mod for this yet...

Great mod! Been using it for a while now.
