This mod should be fully compatible with Guard Dialogue Overhaul, so you shouldn't run into any problems having both installed at the same time.

If you have any suggestions for topics that guards should speak about, let me know in a post below and I'll try and include them in a future update.

Also, if you would like me to re-record a particular line to try to improve the audio quality or prosody, let me know which line. I'm also happy to adjust the values for the GetPCMiscStat condition checks if any need to be tweaked.

Most of the new lines in Extended Guard Dialogue are reactions to things that the player has done, such as racking up misc stats, clearing locations, and so on, so you may not hear many new lines at the start of a new save.

If voice acting isn't working for certain voice types, Guard Helmet Voice FX.esp might be the culprit.

I also uploaded Dawnguard Guard VA Fix under Optional Files. This aims to replace Dawnguard's MaleNordCommander guard lines to match the tone of the original voice acting.

You can listen to a sample comparison here.

Hey, what happened to your Extended Diamond City Security Dialogue mod? Did you get a copyright strike?

It wasn't a copyright strike, but one of the voice actors did contact me about it and I decided to just pull the mod. At the end of the day I just make mods as a hobby and for a bit of fun.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but would it be safe to update this and Extended Bandit Dialogue mid-game once the updates come out? I know the F.A.Q. section states it's safe to add the mods mid-game, but I don't know if fixing the vanilla lines issue changes that.

Yes. There are no script files in this mod and it doesn't modify anything from the base game.

Guards are coming up and randomly initiating generic dialogue with me.  Is that from this mod?

No. It doesn't change guard behaviour. It just gives guards more random things to say.

When first going to whiterun i only get 2 new dialogues.
the one about morndas and the other about clearer skies.

    Is this normal?

Try speaking to another guard. There seems to be some weird engine bug that prevents base game dialogue from being randomly picked when you speak to the first guard. Speaking to another guard seems to resolve the issue. I'll add a workaround in the next update.

    Female:
"Ah, what could a beautiful lass like you need from a low guardsman like me?"
    "Hail, milady."
"Hmm, have you come to relieve me, lass?"
"They say that your beauty brings warmth to even the coldest postings, and it seems it's true."
"Don't suppose you know of a nice spot for two to curl up in, eh, lass?"
"Not many of Skyrim's women are as fair as you, my girl."
"With legs like those I bet you could stand watch an entire week."
"The guardsmen have been warned that you know how to use your beauty, lass."
"Milady, excuse me, but would you happen to know of your radiance?"
"Gods, now you are a woman. Shaped in Dibella's image, surely..."
    Male:
"Oh, what do you need, brother?"
    "Well-met, milord."
"Are you that new recruit we've been hearing about?"
"Eh, know any places where a man might take his lass for an evening?"
"Aye, so what they've said is true. There's new competition for the women of the hold, eh?"
"You'll have the lasses calling for you soon enough, friend. Maybe some lads, too!"
"By Tsun, you could cleave a man's head from his trunk with arms like those."
"A handsome fella like you might turn the heads of unwary guards, lad, but not me."
"Pardon the interruption, milord, but you are the most striking man I have ever seen."
"What a man you are. A build like that could make Gaiden Shinji blush..."

Altmer - "Sure, sure, you're tall, go on and gloat."
Orc - "How's Orsinium these days? Burned to the ground again?"

Hey Jonxor, love the mod! Good to see you up and around. Got a question regarding Tortoise. Been interested in it's concept from day one as a highly accurate language model that doesn't cost a dime. Have a specific voice I super want to start training voices for, and was wondering if you have any tips for such? Have voice files collected for what little is there for the specific voice, but haven't quite got it sounding as natural as I'd prefer.

    Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Try to have at least an hour's worth of audio in your dataset. If your audio is already split up into separate .wav files like the Skyrim voice files are, remove the 'oof' hah' and 'ugh' sounds by removing .wav files 1 second or less in duration before transcription of the train.txt and validation.txt files.

If you're working with a dataset that has a thick accent, like MaleKhajiit, under Generate Configuration set Learning Rate Scheme to Cos. Annealing.

Other then that, it's mostly just trial and error until you generate a model that sounds right. Some sources say increasing the Learning Rate from 0.00001 might help with accents as well, so you might want to play around with that in case the output doesn't sound right in your initial model.

I should note that the output from tortoise is going to sound like garbage, which is where RVC comes in. You're going to want to train a separate RVC model on the same dataset as well.

I see. So RVC, followed with Tortoise. Saw recommendations for having each clip be 5-10 seconds long, would it be prudent to combine clips to form a min running length of 5 seconds, and vice versa hack longer than 10 sec clips to fit that suggested time length?

Not so much of an accent, just a certain vocal gruffness. I chose a voice with damn near nothing out there, of course, so I've taken soundalike voice files from another game the VA did work for. Hopefully the differences won't set me too far off course of the original voice I have in mind.

I didn't split or combine any files for the dataset. Basically took the Skyrim audio as is, removed the wavs that were 1 second or less in duration, and trained off the rest. For the couple sample files I keep in the Voices folder, I pick a couple wav files that are 8-10 seconds in duration and are as tonaly neutral as possible.

I'd already spent hours separating my voice files into mood folders, just in case. Glad to see I haven't squandered my time in entirety after all. Lol. Thanks for taking the time for pointers btw.

It's safe. The .esp file is completely empty. It's just there to load the .bsa file to overwrite the existing audio.
