Why do I increase my skill to one hand, two hands, magic...etc or my armor level if it is going to cost me the same to kill an animal or an enemy as the game progresses?. It is logical that as my power increases it will be easier for me to kill enemies, animals...etc
Wow, I just came across your impressive looking mod! I have some questions as I am rebuilding my load order...
SkyTEST Versions:
First, I was surprised to see that the original SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators SE got a recent update. I had used that before, but may choose a different version now since I am trying to reduce how many ESP slots I am using. It's update is still not ESLed.
-Is it the ESL-flagged Redux standalone that comes in both Survival mode and NO survival mode? -Or is it the Redux version that still needs the original SkyTEST mod (non-ESLed, but better old patch compatibility)? That version may need an update since the original mod has now been updated.
2) Would your mod be compatible with Edmond's SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators - Lite? This is an interesting newer, lighter version that is ESLed, and still being supported. I think it doesn't include all the textures and some other stuff.
One With Nature:
3) Could your mod be compatible with, or even replace, One With Nature - Dynamic Animals and Creatures SE? It allows us to choose our relationship with many creatures. I noticed that Edmond's SkyTEST claims to be compatible with it.
Hello! thanks for the feedback! Shortly: 1. Esl flagged - non survival 2. maybe 3. I need to test it first, I probably won't make a patch for that mod 4. Not sure, im taking a break from modding, might come back after a while
So I am still experimenting with mods (and will be for a while). From my earlier posts here, so far I currently have just One With Nature and SIC. I do intend to install Age of Beasts. I have A LOT of creature mods and encounter mods, though.
I have not decided which version of SkyTEST (or similar mod) to install. Edmund's version seems really cool (maybe the best?), but I am concerned that it might not get support. But maybe that is not important because of how they implemented it? I am leaning towards Edmund's. Good news that you have it working well!
Mortal Enemies:
I also have Mortal Enemies which I think is really important for creature mods. I do have SkyPatcher installed, so I am curious about Mortal Enemies - SkyPatched. SkyPatcher is a GREAT idea, but it seems hard to know what it is actually doing if the MA doesn't document it well.
Sea of Spirits/Beasts of Tamriel:
While I am here, I see that this mod, Age of Beasts, has support for Sea of Spirits. Sea of Spirits is a cut down version of Beasts of Tamriel. Beasts of Tamriel has a slightly bad reputation because of a few things in it that cause crashes. However; there is a modified version, Less Crash-Prone Beasts of Tamriel, that may be worth a look. And it got an update fairly recently.
Personally, I used BoT for a while and really liked it, but there were some crashes. I think the Less Crash-Prone version will fix those. Though again, sometimes these larger mods need patches, and the less popular ones don't always get those patches if the MA is not motivated to do it themselves.
Sorry so long, TheSteppeNomad. The quest for the perfect creature system continues...
Regarding Edmonds Skytest, I believe it to be best and lightest version of Skytests animal behavior AI with no added animals. He states in the description that he intends to keep it updated; last update was November. And since it is not in need of any update as of now, I'll say that's good. I can also attest to it running well as intended. Now that I have Age of Beasts activated, I have only encountered some wolves and deer, they seem to all still behaving as intended. Some bear encounters as well, they all seem to have needed more arrows to take down than before. I tried this with a few characters at different levels. So far, these two mods seem to jive. But I'll have to play more to really know.
No, I have not tried SkyValor. It looks interesting, and it has a lot of patches for other mods now. I am not sure how compatible it would be with AoB.
Thanks for this mod! As other have said, will you make a patch for the Raptors, Leviathans and T-Rex of the Prehistoric series? And does your mod work out of the box for companion animals like Wolves, Dogs and Bears or is a patch necessary? Greetings!
they level up with player, weaker creatures have lower caps while big creatures are not often capped. Their level is based on a scale relative to the player if you see a even larger creature like a whale it could be something like lv500. :)
If you think the stats are overpowered try to use the nerfed version. I'm also making a newer and better version in 2 weeks(doesn't mean creatures are weaker in the new version tho) Ignore the levels of creatures, those levels serve nothing but increamental health. While their damage will not change due to the game engine
Do whatever you want 100% ok : ) Im currently taking a break and will be creating new versions of this mod soon! Since the file is very small so it should be easy to upload new verions I hope
Thank you, I think I already finish it. However, is "Bears of the North" a master file because of that Four magic effects you use for ResistDamage? Then it should can be easily removedby change the from ID right?
1) If I use the Skytest Redux version from "Optional files", do I still need the esp from 1 of the 2 main files above?
2) "Bears of the North" is a master file for the Skytest Redux version of this mod, but do I still need the "Skytest Redux - Bears of the North" patch from here? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/77721?tab=description

However, I would like to leave a reflection:

1) You said that your mod is compatible with SkyTEST 2022 Redux - Realistic Animal and Predators 4K. But which version?
-Is it the ESL-flagged Redux standalone that comes in both Survival mode and NO survival mode?

4) Could your mod be compatible with Skyrim Immersive Creatures Special Edition (SIC)?
Thanks for this exciting project! I look forward to seeing what is next!

Age of Beasts
SkyTEST (one of the ESLed versions)
Skyrim Immersive Creatures
One With Nature (hopefully)
This seems like it would be the ultimate creature base. Thanks for all the work you put into Age of Beasts!

With that being said, have you ever tried "Skyvalor"? I'm trying to find out if this compatible with AOB.

v1.1 is more balanced but older versions still work fine

The mod is up, I also remove Bears of the North as a requiement.
