OK! So this is a manual download. Which I've just downloaded along with a bunch of other stuff on Steam to get the game back, or at least try to, to the 1.6.640 version that I was last playing, last year. But now I've got these three files, WHAT DO I DO WITH THEM AND WHERE DO THEY EACH GO? And if I've already done the stuff from steam, using the Steam console, then do I need to add these three files?
Whoever thought that messing with Skyrim was necessary in 2024 is such a nice person I want to give him a hug . . . From behind With forearms wrapped around his neck For a very long time
I was able to avoid the update until now. I had to reformat my PC and lost a bunch of crap on my C drive. I have Skyrim an a different drive so what I lost was steam files, manifest and stuff. Can I backup my game files (not through Steam), let it update, and replace the new files with the old?
how does one even install or use this? whenever i double-click the downloadpatch.bat all i get is "The system cannot find the path specified. The file is maybe already patched, because patching failed. The system cannot find the path specified."
With the full AE content, and the other downgrade patcher I was getting tonnes of CTDs with various CC patches.. having now used this to patch the CC content.. At least some of those patches don't CTD now. I'm gonna presume the rest will be fine too.
I dunno guys, this just doesn't work. The patcher works without issues (only complaining about some of the CC .esls missing) Getting black screen after the startup drums afterwards. Even loading circle wouldn't appear. Used fresh steam installation with the default steam location and a couple of collections (dwemer house, chrysamere and camping), tried several times. Wasted.
Okay, managed to get this working. Just in case, maybe someone will need this... The trick is to also not to ditch the CC content and some mods which are mandatory for my gameplay (Nchuanthumz and Enhanced character edit in particular). Hence the steps
1. Download the clean installation of 1.6.1130 2. Launch the game, install all the CC content you've got/need 3. Run the downpatcher 4. Run the Steam console and issue the commands jukjussi provided us 5. Copy the downloaded content over your 1.6.1130 downgraded installation- this is needed cause for some reason there was still something wrong with the version. For example, ECE just wouldn't show the additional sliders whatsoever (yes, I am sure the installation was correct). Perhaps these steps are not necessary for the racemenu plebs. 6. Install your mods (I've had a collection in Vortex, so I've just run it and it was good) 7. Just in case I also installed Backported extended ESL support 8. Everything works, yay!
This is so common nowadays... for corps to spit on the faces of their clients. But this is whole new level of sheit. They KNOW and they don't care. Okay, okay...
Really tempted to try this and see if it fixes some of the broken mods in my game but also scared it might break everythjing and I can't play anymore :c Just completed a load order I'm not trying to lose
I can't download depots for some reason. I've done it before, but now it wont show anything in my downloads queue after issuing the command. I tried earlier, and it would give me the error CAPIJobRequestUserStats - Server response failed 2
@Rinnegami the depots don't show in your downloads. At least, they didn't for me. It just downloads in the background, and lets you know in the console when it's done. If you want to know if it's actually doing something, check your Steam -> Steamapps -> Content folder to see if there's any new depots there. If you get an error, just try again. I had to try several times before the download started.
Hi guys, was able to run through some of the steps outlined by other users in these comments and I think I have it working (Thanks jukjussi, axslv, and jdbomboy). I'm doing this to be able to install Wildlander Wabbajack list.
I specifically followed the steps outlined in axslv's comment:
In addition to the steps above I also ensured that Data\Resources.esl, Resources.bsa and MarketplaceTextures.bsa was deleted from the Data folder. Only thing I had problems with was a new error that I had not seen mentioned here before:
patching "D:\Backups\Game File Backups\Skyrim\Skyrim AE (1_6_1130_0 Downpatched)\Skyrim Special Edition"\Skyrim_Default.ini .. xdelta3: target window checksum mismatch: XD3_INVALID_INPUT The file is maybe already patched, because patching failed. I specifically got this problem with these files:
Skyrim_Default.ini
Data\ccBGSSSE037-Curios.bsa
Data\ccBGSSSE037-Curios.esl
I performed this patching on Jan 5, 2024 on a brand new steam download of Skyrim AE 1.6.1130.0 with all creation content installed. I wonder if that specific creation file was updated since this downpatcher script was created. I was able to load into game fine after running these, and it showed Curios as being installed in the pause menu of skyrim. Was able to use the creation content mods in game no problem. Hopefully this means everything will work fine going forward. I will update here if I find anything else.
I ran this patcher and it seem to work but I tried 3 different collections and got an immediate CTD at launch. To be fair I tried downloading files from the depot with the same result. I even went back to a version of one collection that I have running on another PC(I managed to avoid the update on that one) and it failed, as well. I was able to install most of the mods in the collection manually, plus a number of other mods, and that worked. Did that update break something that's a little proving more difficult to fix, or is it an issue with collections. Has anyone else experienced this type of issue? Then again maybe I'm overlooking something stupid. I guess for now I'll go back to building my own mod lists, I've been doing it that for a long time.
edit: I found the problem(at least I was able get to Realm of Lorkham). I deleted _ResourcePack.esl and it worked. Apparently it's a file created by 1130 that isn't removed automatically.
just to clarify, you got to realm of Lorkham in modlist after needing to manually download mods too? i'm trying to download and install the modlist too, maybe that's harder than just trying to run an already downloaded modlist.
It seems like pre-v1.6.1130 creation club used manifest files to verify, so wabbajack won't even finish the install without these, since i can no longer get them i guess this is a roadblock until the modlist is updated.
