I saw that this latest update is a "complete rewrite", does it mean that the mods that are currently based on the Framework won't work anymore and will need to be remade?
What is the exact syntax for making the description text bold (for individual items)? <b>Text</b> doesn't seem to work. Or do I need a font which also have a bold variant? I am using Sovngarde Font and wasn't able to spot any difference. Could I even make use of any "custom" font or only the vanilla fonts from Skyrim. I read through the description, but I quite don't get how I'm supposed to set it up, sorry
Edit: Got it, but now I have another question: I (now) know I can set a custom font per item description. (I have this font now in my fontconfig). Can I set custom fonts globally inside the Description Framework.ini or only the default ones from Skyrim itself? I am asking because I don't want to add everywhere "<font face='$DescriptionFont'>Text</font>".
Edit 2: Ok, I'm fine now...took another look inside the ini and saw Prefix and Suffix - Read, Think, Write <- Will do this the next time, promised!
Hello! Thank you so much for the mod and this opportunity.I'm facing a problem when creating descriptions for Arrows and Bolts. They don't show up in the game. They're part of the weapon category but in xEdit there the only arrows you can find are in the projectile and ammunition categories (afaik).
The text below is different methods I tried 3 different ways but none of them has worked. # Iron Arrow [FormID: 0x01397D] # IronArrow| A basic arrow made from iron, suitable for general combat.|1
#Ammunition category# 0x01397D~skyrim.esm|A basic arrow made from iron, suitable for general combat.|1
#Projectile category# 0x07B933~skyrim.esm|A basic arrow made from iron, suitable for general combat.|1 EDIT: The 0x in the ID was my issue. Or maybe the small letter in skyrim.esm
Change the size and color to your preference. I also recommend checking out skyrim book records to see the types of font options you can use, as the books have the best examples of HTML formatting
I know keywords is not a planned feature atm but I'd like to make a request for it wrt mods like Weapons and Armors Attributes SE and Weapon/Armor Material Properties, which add bonuses to weapons/armors based on their material. The base mods add a perk visible in active effects but this mod is a perfect opportunity to declutter active effects and have that material ability listed directly on the item. If it's not planned/reasonable then i understand but just throwing the reason for request in.
Have you considered adding support for global variables or script reference values to be displayed in descriptions? Would be kind of nice for dynamic values.
Has anyone developed a mod for spell school categories for spell merchants using this mod as a basis? It's been talked about on reddit and someone actually pasted some code that would work in xedit. I'm not a programmer. I'm just a user searching for a mod that makes searching through tons of spells when shopping at a merchant store. Could it work with all the major magic spell mods to better describe spell tome books by category and description? Thanks
Do you think it's possible to implement a feature that allows descriptions to be distributed based on keywords?
For example, any item that has the keyword ArmorMaterialLight would receive a specified description such as, "Light armor protects you less but won't slow you down as much."
It is possible, but the feature may be too much of a hassle and/or would not fit well with how descriptions are intended to be used (ie each item gets a unique description) :(

Reading mod descriptions to find out what an item does? A THING OF THE PAST!

Thanks
+) mod description will need to be updated without 'item must be misc item'.
Mod page has been updated

You did it!
