Idk what is going on tbh, installed the mods and the fuel framework and everything required, the lanterns work appear on NPCs and all they even work on me,when it comes to the fuel tho it's just weird.
First of all i seem to have 2 different Lantern Fuels both for the iron lantern, is that normal? should there be 2?
Secondly randomly my lantern decides it had enough and kills itself i.e. decides it has no fuel and DOESN'T refuel when i reequip it it says i have no fuel but i have fuel in my inventory BOTH kinds.

I haven't tried the other 2 lantern types since i rlly rlly don't like their light. Gonna have to try them out and if worse comes to worse i may just go non fuel always on lanterns sad as that may be for my immersion.

I'm kind of at a loss based on what you've told me so far. The duplicate fuels thing shouldn't even be possible, each fuel is its own separate item type, there's no duplicates of anything. Your second problem sounds like Fuelable Framework isn't recognizing my fuels, or the framework itself isn't working properly.

Let me ask a few questions:

      • What mod manager are you using?
      • What version of Fuelable Framework are you using?
      • Do you have my mod in a merged/Bashed patch?

I think i somewhat solved it by messing with the load order and also having just one and the proper version of the framework.

      1. NMM because it's good and based XD (jokes aside it's the best mod manager to me,easy to use and am already familiarized with it)
2.Funny thing is i had 2 versions of the Framework installed cuz the mod page is confusing and i guess no1 bothered to fix it or something, it has a 0.3 version and 0.4a and for someone who's modded games for a while that screams "download the 0.3 and 0.4a then install 0.3 and overwrite it with 0.4a" but on closer look i noticed they're both the same size so the 0.4a is the latest version so 0.3 is outdated i guess yet it's not in the "old files" category or anything so it was confusing. I deleted the 0.3 version only have 0.4a and seems to be fine. I also messed a bit with the load order tho idk if it did much but now all the lantern and fuels stuff are at the bottom of my load order right before my house mod(has to be last to prevent conflicts) and ELFX which has to be second last to overwrite everything lights related.
3.No as far as i know i don't have that, i think Merged is only for Oldrim(couldn't find it anywhere or a SE version with a different name) and Wyre Bash i will be honest i never rlly used it. All in all i have neither tho i did hear they help in the background even with mods that don't require them so i wouldn't mind some links and directions.

Well, good news is it's exactly what I figured, you have an install error. So what you need to do is uninstall Fuelable Framework and my mod entirely, grab the 0.3 version of Fuelable Framework (that's what I made my mod for, and the 0.4a version you're talking about is just an alpha test of a new feature, it's not an update), then reinstall Fuelable Framework 0.3 FIRST, then install my mod SECOND letting my .ini overwrite the .ini from Fuelable Framework. That should fix it entirely. Also I should note that both mods should be load order neutral; Fuelable Framework is an SKSE plugin and my mod doesn't touch anything that could be overriden.

Now just as a suggestion, I get that NMM is what you're used to but my dude you need to move away from it. MO2 is a vastly superior mod manager, it's not at all hard to use, and if you have questions there's plenty of tutorials. Trust me, modding and troubleshooting is 1000x easier if you're running MO2, it's well worth getting familiar with.

I tried MO2 in the past it felt off and i mean no offence to the good folks who work on Vortex but holy hell that thing is the worst most attrocious thing i ever used. I know they put alot of effort in it and it's fine if ppl like it i too appreciate the amount of work they put into it but i'd rather manually mod games each 1kb file at a time than use Vortex =))))
I may give MO2 another try sooner or later but for now all my games are on NMM and fully modded out so to make the switch i'd have to literally fully remod each game which can take up to a few days so imma stick with NMM for now.

Anyway as for the mod then i guess my mistake was literally and only install the 0.4a, so get rid of that instead and things should be fine right? I will try it out, also thx for bringing up Bash in the past comment,i did look it up,tried it out and followed some tutorials and i combined ALOT of plugins and stuff into one and the game's more stable now.
From what i gather Bash does one thing that being it combines multiple compatible mods into one in the eyes of the game so the game no longer has to look through all those hundreds of mods constantly for the stuff it needs it looks for the bash combined one and that that and improves the game stability and load times. I may have the wrong idea about how it works tho but still point still stands it rlly did help so thx also thx for the mods and the help.

De nada, glad to help. I will say though, if you do wind up switching over to MO2 at any point - and you're right, you would have totally redo everything up to a clean reinstall just because of the way MO2 handles files - do NOT use Wrye Bash. It works just fine for NMM, and as you saw it really does improve a lot of things, but MO2 doesn't really place nicely with it in my experience.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong ... the mod appears to work ok, I'm just not getting any fuels at merchants or cookpots. What does the 2 mean at the end of the CID ini lines?

      Main description:
To make the fuels you'll need to have the right ingredients in your inventory at the cookpot.

I did that intentionally to minimize crafting clutter. The 2 at the end of the line in the CID file is just the amount of fuel each merchant will have, so if you want to change it to give them more you can. As for the merchants not having them, if you installed on an existing playthrough you made need to wait for them to restock, also not every merchant has the fuels, but the CID file will give you an idea who to look for, although I think I'm going to update the description to give a list.

Just gather (or console up) 4 Tundra Cotton and go to a cookpot as a test; if you see a recipe the mod's probably fine and the merchants will start carrying it after they restock. If you still don't see the recipe, check for something overwriting my mod, although I honestly couldn't even guess what would be.

EDIT: So upon testing I found out not all merchants were stocking fuels the way they were supposed to, presumably because Skyrim is weird like that. I just uploaded a new CID file that I made sure works, so you can just overwrite the old CID file with the new one.

      Hi, thanks for the reply.

Cooking pots - Yes, my mistake sorry. I read the description but didn't realise that not having the ingredients would stop fuels even showing up. I mean visible but unavailable/greyed out like usual.  In the cooking container, I have multiple entries depending what's in my inventory ... e.g. one for 4x tundra cotton and another for troll fat  and another for dwarven oil ... I thought the description meant (eg for regular fuel) tundra cotton plus troll fat or tundra cotton plus dwarven oil, but just crafting one of them fuels my lantern. All good, just wondered if that's how it's meant to be.

Traders - Downloaded your new CID file, coc'd to a couple of locations, Riverwood and Whiterun. Lantern fuel now available at both traders as described on the page.

All good anyway : -)  I've now got lanterns that need fuel, and ways of immersively obtaining the fuel. A decent replacement for Chesko's lantern mod which I've been missing in my game.

      Thank you very much.
