Because I installed this mod during gameplay and use True Meeko Plugin - ESL, Meeko's appearance will change even if Meeko is excluded. Am I editing Dog_DISTR.ini incorrectly? (By default, Meeko is excluded, right?)
Make sure you have the hotfix. I can't remember if by default the DISTR removes Meeko from being edited but I do not believe I did that. The comment below yours has a correct edit that would exclude Meeko

I downloaded this mod and edited Dog_DISTR.ini before I found Meeko, but this mod changes it. I downloaded it while playing and will try again next time I play New Game.
Like I said, you can just remove the mesh from his inventory for now. Open the console and click on Meeko and type "showinventory", there should be a mesh in their named whatever breed he is, remove it and he should have the appearance you gave him.
Make sure you have the optional file though because the main upload may or may not have an edit from when I was first experimenting that applies the spell to the dograce instead of through spid and I didnt notice at first
You don't, if you want a specific dog to look different you can add an exception in the SPID file for them and give them one of your choosing. Theoretically you could rerun the spell on them but I doubt itd work
This is a cool mod. I've been using it for a while now. For fun, I did create Conjure Dog and Husky spells and staffs, but this doesn't randomize the summons every time I cast the spell. What I'm really interested in is taking the textures of Freki, the completely white husky from Winterhold Restored and making them work with this mod too. I've got it to work with randomly spawned huskies by swapping out the huskyblack. nif and added his textures to the textures folder and pointed the paths to them, but this doesn't work for the spell and staff variants. I guess I'm looking for something closer to the Atronach variants mods. Mostly a husky having a 50/50 shot of being Freki or the standard through spells. Sorry for this mess of words.
If you want to add new texture sets, you'll need to open the ESP and add an entry in each of the sections within it, should be pretty self explanatory with how I have named things. The spell that gets distributed pulls an armor and equips it to the dog and takes care of the rest. As for the other request, I dunno, you'd need to edit the spell script probably.
Is there a possibility to make this mod remember the assigned breeds to specific named dogs? I don't wanna get Meeko and have him be a different breed every time I reload the game
Read the description, add an exclusion for Meeko if you dont want that. Otherwise no theres no way to make it remember, at least not one thats worth the implementation cost.
