A thing I made for my fresh playthrough after a 3+ month hiatus. So this is a remodel of the vanilla werewolf, completely reshaping it into a cat-like beast with new textures. Comes with an optional sound replacer.

  • Q; "Urgh, I hate cats, they're total c*nts... Why would you make this mod?"
  • A; I made this because I wanted to play as a new character who replicates my lykoi cat that I adopted three months ago and who I cherish with all my heart. Like, a human who may turn into a werecat, but also giving the option for Khajiit players to transform into a cat-like beast. And if you're gonna ramble about how much you dislike cats, then you're basically disrespecting my cat and all other cats and need to move on without even interacting with this mod page. I don't need no negative vibes on this mod page... That said, this mod is obviously aimed at genuine cat lovers who are also fans of playing as werewolves in Skyrim, who also have nothing against changes to vanilla elements like what this mod offers.

  • Q; "This reskin is ugly/scary, where is the eye bleach?"
  • A; Jokes on you, werebeasts are SUPPOSED to be scary and intimidating, so I didn't exactly aim for this reskin to be heartmeltingly cute (unless some kind people state otherwise), but once again to make the werecat resemble the Lykoi cat breed, with bald spots and all, similar to the vanilla werewolf.

  • Q; "Is this lore-friendly?"
  • A; I guess yes and no - As far as I'm aware, there have been no mentions of lycanthropes who resemble housecats according to TES lore, but instead werelions. And I know that plenty of NPCs in the game are canonically werewolves, I just kinda thought it would be a fun twist to replace them with cats, just for cosmetic purposes.

  • Q; "The race's or actors' names are still 'Werewolf', I'm confused?"
  • A; I think that's practically no big deal, considering how Lykoi cats are sometimes referred to as werewolves due to their appearance, and their name actually means "Wolf" in Greek. Plus this mod is merely a model- and texture replacer, no plugin included where I would've otherwise altered a whole bunch of texts to instead read "Werecat", so I'm mostly leaving that out for compatibility purposes.

  • Q; "I don't want everyone to turn into werecats. Can I get this skin to show up on the player only?"
  • A; gg77 posted this skin among his player-only werewolf replacers now!

  • Q; "Will you make a mod that makes Khajiit resemble cats instead of wolves upon transforming?"
  • A; By popular demand, I spent this past week working on such a mod, and while I consider it to be in a somewhat finished state, I'm waiting for the right opportunity to upload it as a standalone mod. But other things like updating this mod to v1.5 took alot of time and again, modding usually ends up killing my sleep schedule, lol.

  • Q; "Will this work with any werewolf textures?"
  • A; Technically it will, since the mesh is straight-up remodelled from the vanilla werewolf mesh, using the same UV-layouts and all. You'll just have to manually replace the werewolf textures in the Data > textures > WereLykoi folder.

  • Q; "Is this compatible with Diverse Werewolves Collection or Moonlight Tales?"
  • A; Yes, I've adapted the model to appropriately apply each texture which DWC adds and should most likely work with MTSE as well. However, Moonlight Tales Mini adds standalone werewolf meshes that would need to be manually replaced.

  • Q; "Why is the female model identical to the male one?"
  • A; This time around I intended for this model to appear somewhat gender neutral, and since this model is based on my cat, I couldn't imagine her having boobs. I've now uploaded optional feminine models.

  • Q; "Will you make a NSFW version of this mod?"
  • A; The answer is probably no from my part, I intended for this to be generally safe for work. But if anyone's up for the idea, feel free to edit the model for that purpose and maybe share it over at LL.

  • Q; "Can I distribute your werecat into the game by other means? (New spawns, followers, standalone Beast Form power, etc)"
  • A; Sure,  go ahead. I'd love to see my work integrated into other mods which add a whole bunch of new creatures.

  • Q; "Can I port this for console?"
  • A; Most of my work is fine to port to Xbox one or PS4 as long as you know what you're doing. And the non-MFA replacer should indeed be fine to port without problems. But the MFA version depends on HDT SMP just to avoid any potential ear- or jaw stretching and should be left alone since SKSE isn't made available for consoles.

  • Q; "Will you do x changes for me?"
  • A; No. Like many other modders, I start out creating certain mods based on my own preferences and prefer to share them as-is, I can't be a people-pleaser all the time. If you're that desperate to change something, I suggest you try to do that yourself, should you have some knowledge. But I can try my best to get rid of any potential issues, if any. (Last tweak I did was getting rid of some slight clipping below the neck)
