Is there an easy way to see what plugin might be causing this crash? I was going through this with mihail on his page and he said that while this might save the crash, it will reenable the worse versions of the npcs that he was trying to overhaul, resulting in both versions of the npcs at once. I've been looking all over xedit to figure out what mods might touch these npcs but I have not found what it might be
EDIT: also I don't have the requiem anniversary patch that you referenced below, so it wasn't that. A ton of mods edit the goblin overhaul mod but mostly in its worldspace, and from what I can tell that's common for a lot of mods without causing issues like these so it's more difficult for me to find the culprit without disabling all of them
EDIT #2: I see mihail's reasoning in your zombie patch comment section, and that you stated the records are deleted but the vanilla goblins don't actually show up in the quest, so I will choose to believe you and play the quests with these patches and see for myself as well, as long as they prevent my game from crashing! holy s#*! is this why all my saves kept crashing for some reason?? my crash logger did mention the mod first as a possible culprit but i assumed it was something else in the list. i'm gonna give this a try and see if i can suddenly load all my older saves
