About this mod

There is a perk in Undeath Classical Lichdom you can unlock to prevent NPCs from attacking your lich form on sight. This mod removes that perk so your lich form is always hated, and instead grants the 25% bonus to Illusion magic that is normally given to vampires.

The mod Undeath - Classical Lichdom makes some huge improvements to the original Undeath mod. One of these changes is adding a progression system: by feeding filled Black Soul Gems to your Phylactery, you can unlock some perks. At 25 souls, your Lich form is no longer hated, and you can stroll around town as a floating undead monster without anyone caring at all.

The description when you unlock this perk calls it a powerful illusion effect, but personally I don't like the feeling of not needing to put any effort into hiding my lichdom. So I created this mod.

To keep it in line with a "powerful illusion effect" I replaced it with a 25% boost to Illusion effectiveness, same as the vanilla effect given to vampires.

This will only work on a new game, because existing saves will already have their script parameters saved and there is nothing I can do about that.
This mod also requires Undeath Classical Lichdom - The Ascension (Lite) because I was using that mod when I made this one, and they both touch the same records. If you're starting a new playthrough with Classical Lichdom, you should really use The Ascension (Lite) too.

Technical info:

The original perk doesn't actually do anything on its own, but the scripts when you change forms will check if you have the perk to decide if they make npcs hostile or not. At first, I tried to modify the scripts to simply not check for this perk, but I realized I would have to make changes in multiple scripts and those changes would likely break if the parent mods were updated.

So instead, I simply created a new esp file to modify the record for the phylactery, and changed which perk is passed to the script when you reach 25 souls. Because the script still needed to receive a perk in order to work, I used the vanilla perk that the game gives you when you turn into a vampire to increase illusion effectiveness (called Champion of the Night). This seemed fitting, since the effect I am replacing is described as illusion magic and there are no other illusion buffs you get as a lich.

Note that the vanilla game uses a magic effect that applies the perk, but this mod will add the perk directly. This means that it will not appear in your magic effects list. If you want to verify that you have the perk, you can run the following command player.hasperk f5b56
If you see "Perk Rank >> 1" then you have the perk. A zero instead of a one means you don't have the perk.

Also, because this uses the vanilla perk, if you become a vampire and a lich at the same time, you will still only get 25% instead of 50%. I consider this a good thing because this perk is calculated after other illusion boosts and multiplies their effectiveness, so 50% would be too broken (honestly 25% is already pretty strong because of how it stacks).

I also updated the message box that appears when you reach 25 souls to describe the new perk. Those are the only two records in this mod. It is ESL flagged.
