This is hands down the best vampire overhaul that I've ever used. The beginning is rough but it makes sense lore wise, new vamps are always hungry. Eventually though, you are the master of the night. Most overhauls and vanilla are disappointing when you first become a vampire lord. I always avoided transforming in a fight because it was almost a guaranteed death but with this you feel like a vampire lord should from the beginning. I have a reason to use the transformation now. Give it a chance, and push through the first stage or two. The pay off is very worth it.
This is the best vampire mod this game has ever had. I mean it, just masterful. Thank you for the hard work. I don't see myself playing any others after this.
I do have a question about a problem I've run into though and I'm hoping to solve it. When I corpse feed no animation plays. The screen just turns red or sometimes doesn't turn red at all. The only mod I can think of that modifies feeding is Vampire Feeding Tweaks but I have the patch for it. Anybody else run into this bug?
Apparently I misunderstood what you meant. When I played other vamp overhauls I would SOMETIMES get no feeding animation and sometimes I would. I see what you mean now, I never get an animation when I corpse feed with this mod.
Haha all good! That's a bummer though. Try downloading 10.0 instead. I downloaded that version and now corpse feeding works perfectly. It's the cannibalism animation but I just roleplay that my vampire character is drinking blood in handfuls.
I was going to mess with the feed timing to see if that works and I also came across a mod that supposedly fixes feed animations but if downgrading fixes it then I’ll probably just do that and save the headache. Thank you.

EDIT: I just went back and looked. It's also made by Haxop, the author of this mod.
EDIT 2: The fix mod didn't work. I removed any other installed overhauls (even though none of them were enabled), didnt work. Downgraded to 10.3, still didn't work. Disabled simple hunting overhaul and the patch just in case, still no corpse feeding animation. Looked in SSEdit.... I understood the words but had no idea what it was saying...
EDIT 3: The animation works in 10.21 also.
EDIT 4: Made a backup file with deadfeeding scripts from 10.21, deleted the ones for 10.4 and replaced them witht the ones from 10.21... issue still not resolved.
You seem to be as dedicated as me to get the animation to work haha, though you have more knowledge. So the animation in 10.21 works? Is it the normal bed feeding animation or the cannibalism animation? I feel like you got the right idea and are on the right track. Too bad that last attempt with animation script replacing failed to yield any results.
I'm starting to doubt that its a script thing. I did the same thing with 2 other feeding scripts and even with the cannibal feeding scripts just in case. I found a folder titled Meshes that had animations in it. 10.21 didn't have this folder so i figured maybe its a conflicting animation and deleted the folder. I would probably have tried to narrow it down and find which specific files in the folder were the issue if deleting the folder helped... it didn't. The problem shows up in 10.3 and was carried into 10.4 and 10.3 doesn't have that folder either. I should have looked there first. The best i can do is chop pieces off with a machete and if that fixes it then try to find out what part of the chunk was the issue. Unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable enough to do anything more than this.
Boy, that's annoying. All this mod needs is that animation fix and it's easily the king of all vampire overhauls. I'm trying out 10.21 with Vampire Feeding Tweaks and the compatability patch to see if that does anything. Shame the mod author keeps abandoning this and deleting his profile. He ought to let somebody else take the reigns if he doesn't want to deal with it anymore, not to sound heartless.
Well, I thought I had it. I frankenstiend these files trying to narrow it down and see what it was. I eventually got it to work on 10.4 but by that point almost all of the files were 10.21 and there was no telling what was broken because of that. I'm just going to enjoy this mod with the 10.21 version for now until someone more knowledgeable and skilled can solve this. The immortality thing wasn't working for me in 10.4 either so hopefully it does here. I was fine without it but not having the animation bugged me. Is 10.21 doing good for you?
I'm using VTR with Vampire Feeding Tweaks (and the optional patch) and while I've been able to use DAK to Sneak Feed I'm unable to feed on fallen/staggered enemies (Feeding Tweaks works fine without this mod). I'm loading the patch after VFT, haven't yet tried if it worked when disabling the patch but still keeping both mods active.
Hello I really love this mod. I was wondering if its intended or my game is broken because I turn into a vampire but my character appearance is still the same as if I was human (no glowing eyes and whatnot). Is this intended? if so, is there a way to disable it?
EDIT: there was a conflict with another mod. This one had nothing to do with the problem.
