Honestly, if you could use base object swapper mod and replace ALL burnt corpses in the game so they can be reanimated, that would be better to my opinion instead of adding extras for those more into a vanilla-esk type of gameplay. Of course, it may mean that a bit of checking should be done because some corpses may have quest objects inside meaning that you should be able to pickpocket the corpse too which I think a mod permits already to pickpocked reanimated bodies.
BOS version would definitely be cool, but if Dave does this I kinda hope he does it as an alternate version, rather than updating the main file to add this dependency.
would suck for those who don't/can't use BOS to be locked out of the mod entirely (namely console players if and when this mod gets ported over to Beth.net.)
IMO there's a problem with that- as containers, the vanilla burnt corpses don't have physics, so are stuck in particular poses. If I replaced them all with the NPC versions, the corpses would be lying around on the floor in awkward positions. For example there's at least one burnt corpse in a cage, and it only fits in the cage because of its pose.
If there was a way to replace them all with the NPC version while keeping the poses at the same time, that would be perfect and worth doing. But at the moment I don't think it's possible, so not only would you lose the poses, which I think look cool and add to the atmosphere of the game, but the mod would also be too 'intrusive' in my opinion, i.e. it would make too many changes outside the scope of the mod's intentions.
I get your point. I wonder if a simple trigger of the Reanimate Corpse could switch from static object to physics corpse. Basically, all corpse are static objects but once they receive the magic effect of reanimation, the object switches to a corpse. But again, as you say, it could add to the immersion that the corpse just does not have that same vanilla position and act with real physics.

Anyways, very good idea indeed!!!

in short; multiple versions is the way!
