Can you look into this main menu replacer?
Female Dragonborn Main Menu Wallpaper at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)

I cannot convert it with the app.
    It says:

"Please enter a name for this main menu background
    female Dragonborn
ERROR: Unable to find old texture file. Exiting...
    Press any key to exit..."

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but I can't get my head around how to use this.  I want to have a random main screen background on game start. I don't care about logos.  Does this mod actually do this?

The mod when opened only has a meshes folder, no texture folder which is usually where the background dds is loaded from?

I'm also a bit confused by the description. It says "Simply drag a mod zip file ..." but then a few lines later it says "Files in archives are currently unsupported"

I was hoping your mod would be an alternative to Main Menu Randomiizer SE (which uses Net Framework and thus doesn't support AE 640). But I have no idea how to use it with the usual folder structure of downloaded random main menu packs, i.e. Data\meshes and Data\textures.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what this mod actually does, but it does say "This SKSE plugin randomizes the main menu background ..."

The conversion utility works fine for me, and generates a zip file with mesh and texture folders, while the text file inside your mod just says "Place Custom Meshes Here". I don't understand what I have to do with the zip that the utility creates.

Sorry, by files in archives are not supported I mean that for the mod to function, the main menu meshes need to be loose .nif files, and not be in BSA archives. The utility creates a zip file to make installing into a mod organizer easier.

it works, but in the objects in the menu are zoomed in and not scaled normally like it loading screens.
I made sure to disable Main Menu Randomizer. Maybe an issue with aspect ratio? I play in 21:9

Perfect awesome mod if this can be figured out.

Another thing I wondering also if this can be extended to loading screens as well, now that would be insane.

You can already replace loading screens with plugins, no need for SKSE. Not sure why the mod isn't working right for you in 21:9, as I only play on 16:9. Are you sure that the main menu replacer you're using is 21:9 compatible? It probably needs a different mesh than a 16:9 one.

Sorry, I should say that I am probably not using this mod as it was intended. I just installed it and slapped some nifs in the folder so that it would replace the dragon symbol, but I must be missing something.

Ah, yeah, this mod was made with main menu mesh replacers in mind. I suppose you could put any nif in there, but you'd have to adjust it in nifskope proably to get it to look right.

Ah yes that's must be it. Not as plug and play as i foolishly imagined.

Powerofthree's Photo Mode does a nice job of randomising load screens. It uses screenshots that you've made with the mod, or you can drag your own pics into it.

The utility you mentioned in the mod page does not open in my PC. It throws a bunch of errors. Note: I have all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable installed.

    Like these errors:
"The code execution cannot proceed because ucrtbased.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
"The code execution cannot proceed because VCRLlNTIME140_1D.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
"The code execution cannot proceed because VCRLlNTIME140D.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
"The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140D.dII was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

    Need help!

That's odd, I would think that having visual c++ would be enough. I'll see if I can't change the program to avoid needing extra libraries.

Thanks for the hard work. I needed a mod like this for my Skyrim AE!
I hope the utility gets fixed soon for me.

After dealing with too many C++ compile issues, I've rewritten the program in C#.
See if this new release works for you.
      MainMenuAdapter (github.com)

You might need to install this:
      Download .NET 7.0 SDK (v7.0.402) - Windows x64 Installer (microsoft.com)

Are you trying to convert an existing mod? If so leave a link and I'll try to see what's happening when I get some free time.
Otherwise you could dm me a link to the zip.

I hate to be that guy but it seems to work when I test it out. You're dragging and dropping the zip file onto the exe, right? If you just double click it it won't know which file to convert and do nothing.

    This is awesome.

If I could be greedy, would you consider doing the same for the menu music? Ideally, I'd love to be able to randomize the main menu replacers that I have that have preselected music so that if they are picked, their music is loaded as well. And if the mesh doesn't have music to go with it, a random one is picked...

That's not a bad idea! I might, but it probably won't be for a bit. This took way longer than it should have to reverse engineer what function Skyrim uses to load the main menu mesh. Maybe over Fall break though.
