About this mod

The patch for Skills of the Wild on the Helps to Have a Map - Worldspace Additions and Patches page still requires the old Skills of the Wild with Hunterborn as a master. Since jayserpa updated Skills of the Wild to use Simple Hunting Overhaul instead of Hunterborn, I have modified the original patch to work with Skills of the Wild 2.0+.

The inimitable jayserpa, creator of Skills of the Wild - New Campfire Survival Skill Trees, recently updated the mod so that it no longer relies on the wonderful but heavyweight Hunterborn by unuroboros. I played with Hunterborn for years, but have switched to jayserpa's Simple Hunting Overhaul (the new requirement for Skills of the Wild).

I recently also discovered a great complementary immersion mod called Helps to Have a Map, which requires the Dragonborn to actually have a map in order to look at a map of Skyrim. No more Google Maps for you, Dragonborn! In Helps to Have a Map - Worldspace Additions and Patches, modder AndrealphusVIII goes further and requires you to have a compass item equipped in order to see the compass in the UI.

But I already have Skills of the Wild, you say, which requires me to have a certain perk to use the UI compass bar! That's where AndrealphusVIII says, "Good point!" and creates a patch for his mod that modifies the Spatial Awareness perk in Skills of the Wild so that it allows you to craft your own compass once you have the perk.

The problem is, that patch requires Hunterborn as a master because it is built for Skills of the Wild 1.x. Now that the link to Hunterborn has been severed, that patch is not viable.

So I opened up trusty SSEEdit and shuffled some things around so that the patch no longer needs Hunterborn, and relies on Skills of the Wild 2.x.

Anyway, please enjoy these mods. I intend to. Campfire + Skills of the Wild + Helps to Have a Map & Compass = immerrrrrrsion
