What is it?
The Shrine to the Lost Companion is a shrine that travelers from across Skyrim visit to leave offerings and notes honoring the companions -- pets, friends, family members -- they have lost through the years. Players can visit this shrine and activate it to receive a buff, as well as read the various notes travelers have left scattered around the shrine. I am looking for player submissions for new notes to be added to the shrine in future updates of Khajiit Will Follow. You can see a short video walkthrough of the shrine below:
Guidelines for submissions?
- Please DM your submissions to me.
- Notes should be short, no more than 1-2 in-game “note” pages (< 800 characters, or about 140 words).
- Additionally, please title your note (24 character limit) – every book in the game has a title. “Note to Buddy.” “I’ll remember you.” Something simple like that.
- If you would like a small clutter item to be placed in-game with your note (like a potion, or helmet, or sword, etc.), please let me know. No guarantees, but I'll do my best.
- I don’t care if your note is “in-universe” or not. Shatter that fourth wall, yo. It’s more important to me that the notes be genuine, but if you’d like to give your companion a nice Nordic (or khajiiti!) name, that’s fine.
- I don’t really care about format – general note, poem, fond memory, happy, sad etc. – whatever works best. This is your note. You do you.
- However, please spell-check and grammar-check your note to the best of your ability, and keep things family friendly.
- I’m hesitant on adding images, but I may take them into consideration if you provide them.
- If you want to be credited for your note in the mod’s readme, please mention it and include your desired name/username/Twitter handle/whatever.
Please understand that I only update KWF once or twice a year, so while new notes will be added with each update, it may be a bit before your note actually makes it in-game. My apologies in advance.
