Skyrim Special Edition

Plans:

In its current state, the mod seems to be a dud. Very few people found it worth downloading. The plan is to separate all of its components into optional files, which will allow for total freedom in what parts you want to use and which ones you avoid. Once that step is done, I will continue to work on the items listed in the original sticky post. But instead of being new features that are a part of the mod by default, they will be optional. Please be patient, as these changes will take some time.

Once all of this is done, I intend to re-release KYTA as a "Revised" edition in the hopes that people can take a fresh look and won't be as turned off by its restrictions.

Red: Planned but not yet started
Orange: In the works
Green: Done

- Revamp mod so that all of its features are optional: (In progress).

- Compatibility with vanilla perks that modify Armor Rating. (Done. This will be one of the new optional features when the revised edition is released).

- Patches for mods that modify the above perks (I'll create patches for the most popular perk mods and take requests).

- Make a file using Description Framework so armors can display their Tier number (This is probably going to take a significant chunk of time. The feature as it currently exists with Description Framework has a visible bug, and I'm hoping that the author finds a solution).

Make some videos demonstrating how the mod works (Will be released with the revised edition).

- Make new set bonuses so that specific armors have their own strengths/weaknesses, which creates more variety and options within the armor tiers and gives people a reason to wear a particular suit of armor aside from its tier. Keep or discard the old set bonuses (which would stack with the more specific set bonuses) depending on user feedback. Thanks to sukeban for the suggestion!  (Will be released with the revised edition).

- Create some diversity in the flesh spells so that they have strengths and weaknesses. For example, Oakflesh, while overall the weakest, could be particularly weak against axes but stronger against blunt weapons. (Will be released with the revised edition).

Depending on interest or feedback:

  • Optional file for reduced/eliminated spell casting penalty when using heavy cuirasses. (No Casting Penalty Patch added)
  • Optional file(s) for tweaked armor protection levels depending on feedback. These would crudely mimic True Armor's "Presets".
  •         Change it so that lower tier means weaker and higher tier means stronger (if it bothers enough people).
  • Optional file for additional damage reduction when using a shield.
