The day has come, and I have finally finished my work on the excellent VIGILANT mod, by Vicn and the wonderful, talented community of translators that made it playable for us English speakers. Thank you all so much for your hard work, and for a story that puts vanilla story telling to shame. It was a blast working on and writing this story!

That being said... my first thoughts playing Vigilant were, "I'm not sure I would bring a follower to do this." and that is exactly how I designed this patch. Not to intrude on, overstep, or overshadow, even distract from the mod itself. It's story is beautiful, and I hope I matched it's pacing and beats. This is not a "bring your party to Coldharbour!!!" game. If you play that way, that's fine, but that is not how this is designed. It's not even really designed to bring anyone AT ALL. Just the way it is, and that's how I, in unique ways, integrated Gore, around that. Going to Coldharbour is not to be taken lightly.

There is integration, deeply so, for all three acts... however, your mileage may vary. As many of you know, I don't shy away from killing Gore if the situation calls for it. He is mortal, he is a simple person with simple abilities, and decisions can take him early, or take his life.

Honestly, the less I tell you about this patch, the better. I have kept so much of it hidden and under wraps, so if you want to go in blind, as intended, read only this: the recommended playing order for my patch is Find Gore at Peaks Shade Tower. Take him to any inn away from Falkreath, and speak to him about his name. Let him know its time to go, then leave. Say you could use a drink. Do the Drunken Hunted quest by asking about his appearance, his staring, and life with the Ravens, in particular about women in the camps. Tell him its time to go. Visit another inn. Tell him to relax, then that you are buying drinks. Do blood ties. Do not let him kill anyone he doesn't need to. Do both of his interludes, or the one if you don't romance him. Do House of Horrors in Markarth. Travel with him a bit. Go do Vigilant. Keep him with you during this quest, it will get hard, it will get ugly, but keep him with you. DO NOT TRUST ORLANDO. DO ALL 4 ACTS. Most importantly, do not dismiss him or tell him to relax while you go play Vigilant, or you will miss stuff. DO NOT RUSH THROUGH ACT 4. DO NOT. Go through, see, explore, there is no timer. There is no rush.

I worked so God damned hard on this, and I hope you like it, I really do. If you are going as recommended, stop reading now.

It only happens during Act 4 of Vigilant, and reverts after assuming you do his entire quest there. His story and the stakes there make no sense without it. If you never want to see him older, just don't play Vigilant, or play through it quickly, or don't bring him there.

Also having this problem. He vanished or got stuck on something at some point in the last memory with Lamae and is now not acknowledging that we're back in Skyrim. Just keeps repeating the same line over and over. If I summon him he just wanders off.

Same. Gore is acting as if his brain was removed. I Martyred my character and Gore did not come with me to Coldharbor. I seem to have failed a hidden mission I didn't realize I had about Fading Memories. Is my Gore screwed, where is his equipment?

VER: 1.605.  Just started act 4 with Gore and he has lost all the great gear I had given him before starting Vigilant.  Will I get this back?   Enjoying it so far and look forward to finishing it.  Feels like the experience for Gore really fleshes his character out.

If the items are not returned, it's no big deal as I could always console them back, but thought I'd ask and give some feedback.

ALSO... it appears Gore can sometimes simply arrive in Coldharbour (my friend showed this to me as we both play the same modpack) even when he didn't progress Gore's story enough for it to happen and everything was out of context.  He said he got to the House of Horrors, completed it with Gore, but never did any of the interludes or quests prior, and definitely didn't take him through any of Vigilant.  I believe it occurred after leaving the prison tower - Gore appearing out of the blue, looking quite ragged for wear and aged.  Gore kept mentioning Jo-Lee , Pate etc., could not be asked to stop following or be killed, and the memory quest bugged out upon finishing Vigilant.  Perhaps this is a potential bug.  Sorry I don't have any more than that.

I just finished playing through Vigilant with Gore as my followers, and by the Nine, did he elevate the experience! Thank you so much for this amazing addition to an already stellar mod.

By Talos, you always bring your 500% with Gore and I am just incredibly INSPIRED by it! Maybe not into modding, but your passion and love poured into this mod definitely moves a lot of us to find something in our lives where we can feel the way you do about Gore. Keep it up -- but know when it is time for a rest, my dude!! Thank you!!

I'm about to start a new play-through and haven't had Gore as a follower yet *or* played through Vigilant. Looking forward to this! Thank you. :)
