WHERE TO START:
-- You can find Ma'kara near the bridge just outside Darkwater Crossing. As you approach her, textbox should pop up, signifying the start of the quest.
FROM THE RIVER:
-- Ma'kara will return to Darkwater Crossing after you heal her. She directs you to Mistwatch, a bandit fort to the east of Darkwater Crossing that specializes in kidnapping and ransom.
-- You can find a friendly bandit named Sugarclaw cowering in the tower outside of Mistwatch after you clear the exterior. Sugarclaw will give you a hint as to where to find Ma'kara's lost belongings, and then will become a vendor.
TO THE BARDS COLLEGE:
--After returning Ma'kara's gem to her, she will direct you to the Bards College in Solitude to search for her brother.
-- Ma'kara will head out for the college, but cannot make it all the way there in her current condition. She can be found in the Bannered Mare side room after you're done at the College.
-- Udasi is nowhere to be found at the College, but Nanak can give you a hint about him if you speak to him while you're there.
-- Udasi left a book in the basement of the College. Turn right at the bottom of the stairs and head to the end. The book is on the ground next to the bench. Reading it will progress the quest.
WHITERUN, WINDHELM, AND BEYOND
-- Ma'kara will head to Windhelm after you talk to her about the book. You mention there are Dwemer Ruins far to the southeast of Windhelm, up in the mountains.
-- After you speak to Ma'kara in Windhelm and head out with her to find the ruins, you are looking for Ansilvund, which is slightly northeast of Shor's Stone. At Ansilvund, you can head into the mountains, and follow your compass to the Dwemer Ruins of Kagrenzel.
COMPLETION OF MA'KARA'S FIRST QUEST
-- After you find Udasi in Kagrenzel, make sure to collect/read his note and take his Magecrafter Ore before returning to Ma'kara. Make sure to hang onto the Ore. DO NOT SELL IT.
-- After speaking to Ma'kara outside Kagrenzel, she will return to Candlhearth Hall, at which point she can be recruited as a follower.
TWO HALVES OF A WHOLE - ANOTHER QUEST
--Ma'kara's second quest can be begun by taking her back to Kagrenzel at any time after she becomes a follower. Follow the glowing light to find the entrance to the Dwemer Forging Grounds.
--There is 1 key in this dungeon, and it can be looted from the Dwarven Operator.
-- Ensure that Ma'kara is near the forge once you enter the cube, or her dialogue may not initially appear.
-- After completing and leaving the dungeon, allow the scene between Ma'kara and Udasi to play, and then speak to her to conclude her quest and make her eligible for marriage.

Edit: I had them both unfollow me, its just when I agree to marry her, but I'm not sure if the notification has anything to do with it.
The only time I've seen people have difficulties with the marriage ceremony are when they A) have other marriage mods that alter the vanilla ceremony, or B) when they are using a khajiit speak dialogue replacer. For whatever reason at least one of the khajiit speak patches for KWF utilizes an outdated dialogue tree that doesn't carry forward some changes to the dialogue structure I introduced a few patches again. Additionally, I guess it's possible if you either don't have a current version of the game, or if you've downloaded the CC House patch without actually having the CC content in your game, it could cause a problem. Not sure why any of this would cause a CTD though. You can try marrying a vanilla follower or another KWF follower to see if the problem is reproducable, but unfortunately beyond that, there's not a whole lot else I can do to help, as this isn't a problem I've ever experienced or been able to reproduce. My apologies for the difficulty.
I am having trouble during the very first step of Ma'kara's quest. She asks me to go find another khajiit located on a Fort, but he simply isn't there (inside the tower). Not present. Thus, I cannot get that jewel he gives me. Is there any console command I can use to bypass that stage?
However, he is not required for Ma'kara's quest. You just need to go to the top of Mistwatch and open the safe in Fjola's room. The gem is in there. Hope that helps!
Yes, the Mistwatch Fort is there (even though I got 4~5 packs of 20+ dungeons from different uploaders scattered all over Tamriel) and I shall try to go up the tower to search for the gem.
What I believe it MAY have happened is:
"Sands of Time" + "OBIS Bandits" are a constant thing during my playthrough. You cannot walk 50 meters without bumping into random genereated enemies. Needless to say, Mistwatch's patio was PACKED with bandits fighting a dragon when I arrived. Maybe, just maybe, the NPC Sugarclaw ran for his life and got killed in the process? Lets hope I won't need to interact with him again till I marry Ma'kara, hahahah...
I'll let you know later if I find the gem. Thanks Robbobert.
(small hint -- if you get stuck looking for the book at the college, it's
Updates on my game:
Sugarclaw really wasn't there. OBIS bandits probably killed him, as the front patio was swarmed with 20+ units fighting it out by the time I arrived. No worries, though, as I reached the tower and found the gem like you said. Ma'kara is happy, she went to Whiterun and so far, all is well in Tamriel.
My question is:
Will Sugarclaw appear again? Do I need him in the future? I mean, he probably is / most definately is "DEAD" by the time I am writing this message, so, this dark thought is keeping me from my sleep. My furry dovahkin character (he is also a khajiit) cannot marry Ma'kara if Sugarclaw is still part of her future, hahahaha...
Thanks, friend. Talk to you soon.

Tell me what number is next to the Stage option.
setstage KhajiitWillFollowMakaraQuest 45
and that should get her on her way to Windhelm. Let me know if this fixes things!
