Lonesome Road scheduled for 20 September plus 2 more DLC

  • Comment
Bethesda's blog has the news that Lonesome Road will be available for purchase on 20 September 2011.

In Lonesome Road you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of Fallout: New Vegas. Ulysses promises the answer as to why he didn’t take the job, but only if you make one last journey into the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. It’s up to you whether you take the job or not.

Clearly anyone who downloads the mod will be choosing to take the job.

Bethesda has also announced that two small weapon DLCs will be available for sale. The first, "Courier's Stash", contains all of the items previously available only for pre-ordered versions of the game, available for the low price of $2. The second, "Gun Runner's Arsenal" contains a wider array of weapons, weapon mods, ammo and recipes all available for $4. These DLC packs will be available on 27 September.

Mods, like anything, have ups and downs. My mods make the nights darker and the days brighter. They allow me to be a robot. They give me new weapons, armor and consumables. They update the textures and make the world look at least twice as good as it did in vanilla. But those mods are few and far between in terms of quality. Comparing them to DLC, which are concerted efforts by the publisher to prolong the playability of their title and elevate the gamer's experience, is absolutely pointless.

I say it's a great thing we have both fresh content from the makers and new ideas from the modders. So long as you're smart about what you download and how you use it, you'll be having a damn good time, and isn't that what these games really come down to?

Why would you delete the mod? You make no sense.

Also, I can read the basics of Spanish, and that which I could not read, Google Translate helped.

Also, you saying that most mods are shoddily done has some truth to it. There are an insane number of mods that shouldn't have been released, and at the same time have as much right to be released at something like Midas Magic. A modder doesn't often release a mod that he doesn't like. And that means at least one person likes it. If one does, more might, so it deserves a spot as much as those in the Top 100 lists. The Nexus sites are a place where mods an be shared with the world. Most good ones are a diamond in the rough, and they are few and far between, but that's not reason to not release mods that are not of industry-standard.

You are not a part of the community, so why should you care? I always laugh at people who do complain about mods being badly done, and yet have released none (or only one) themselves.

I don't care, I do the don't like don't download thing that you like so much, i'm simply bashing the mods because the people that bashed the DLC, simply as that, matter of perspective.

I took a look at your mod for Fo3, and I was far from compelled to download it and give it an endorsement. It looked no better than any of the mods that you say should not have been released.

You haven't compelled to download it because is in spanish, so fail argument. But don't worry, I will delete the mod right now, I don't play FO3 any more.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing your mod. I've made lots of mods myself and I know it takes practice, time, and a lot of frustration. However, if you feel that a mod looks bad, don't download it. I looked at TESNexus the other day, and I was shocked by the skin being shown in many of the female armor mods. And guess what I did... I didn't download any of them. It's that simple.

I love point by point answer =_="... Well somehow I decided to take my time to answer you Kyojinmaru in order to stay civil...

I'm not a big fan of clothing mods but I'll try to be as honest as possible...
First I'm not sure to what point you say porn... Is it those that shows the belly button? Or the one with maids? Maybe those that shows a bit of cleavage... Of course there are the underwear retexture ect...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's more the non lore/background friendly that you don't like...
Believe it or not I wish clothes from modder wouldn't be as clean. Other than that...

As for weapons, i'll take my example... It's not a good one but I'm quite happy whith it... Because it does what I intended: Use your own radiation as an ammunition... I put it in a (lazily placed) briefcase along with a note to add a little lore to boot... The weapon itself? not even a re-texture the plain old plasma rifle...

Now take the official preorder bonus that you get with your copy: Just stronger version of an in game weapon... It magically spawn in your inventory, not even a re-texture, it's a stock texture from the game too...
How are these better than mine?

I expect these dlc weapons to magically spawn in your inventory too or being lazily placed into a box. Sure they say stash and arsenal but don't expect much in term of placement... Let's hope they'll be re-textured at least...
If you have your fun with the weapon dlc, I won't be the one to throw you a rock... And I sincerely wish you do...

To be honest, I have tendency to expect a lot more from the pro, than the modders... We'll have to agree to disagree on this one since none of us will change their view...

A mod that don't meet *your* quality standard should disappear from the web? Especially when the first oficial dlc where not even half as good?
Even if a mod is crap to you it doesn't mean it is... There is a lot of mod I don't like out there, there some that are average at best and a little that are skilfully crafted...

Once in a while, I like to remember that my opinions are not laws and that your standards are not absolute...

You should try this once in a while instead of ranting that most of the mods should disappear... It's refreshing...

Well the web would be a lonely place if you where in charge... At least if we do meet your quality standard to be allowed in...

While I'm getting more used to the new site layout, there are two things that I greatly miss from the previous site design: The ability to right-click on the images and open them in a new tab, and the Actions tab.
Being able to open images in separate tabs allow me to have several images of a mod being downloaded at the same time, while allowing me to go back to the description of the mod and continue reading about it.
Likewise, the Actions tab allowed me to see if a particular mod's "Updated" date is because of someone adding an image or because the author uploaded a new version of the file.
Please consider adding these functions back into the new design in some way, shape or form. Thanks!

    @Kyojinmaru

Then why do you have an account?

To endorse the REALLY GOOD items.

    @cpocurtis
Don't be surprised by kyojinmaru, that's the typical troll...

OK, I'm a troll because I don't like the 90% of mods in this web.

That or he expect professional work from any modders that *dares* to post a mod

There are professional like mods indeed, only a few though. I'm tired of porn clothes, 5 seconds retextures, meshes from other games, melded vanilla models and lazy locations to obtain the items.

(the weapon I made is lazy though, that I can easily admit <img class="> )

Like the 90% of mods, don't worry.

The bottom line in mods is don't like, don't download... It's as easy as that

The bottom line in mods is lazy work, don't upload... It's as easy as that.

I will buy the weapons DLC because it will be 100 times better than nearly all the mods here.

Opinions, learn to understand this f***ing word, f***ing TROLL.
