To anyone having troubles with really shiny roads in-game as commented below I found the solution!
This problem affects: -most of the road meshes in "Blended Roads Redone LE 2K/4K/8K (v1.5)"; -some of the road meshes in the old "Blended Roads Redone LE Meshes Update (v1.4)" (making the fix mentioned by winedave some time ago below in the comments obsolete); -"Blended Roads Redone LE Bridges 2K/4K/8K (v1.0)" files seem to be ok as far as I've seen, as well as the bridge files contained in the Meshes Update (v1.4). It's worth mentioning that these bridge meshes are different in both files mentioned.
So, basically you'll only need to fix the "Blended Roads Redone LE 2K/4K/8K (v1.5)" meshes.
To do it: ->open each road mesh with NifScope; ->look at the floor part of the mesh: if it looks overly shiny then continue with the procedure, if not then close the file and continue with the next one. Most need fixing but about 3 or 4 don't; ->left click to select the floor part of the mesh; ->you'll now see on the left pane called "Block Details" that a block called "NiTriShape" is highlighted. That block and the 3 subsequent ones ("NiTriShapeData", "BSLightingShaderProperty", and "BSShaderTextureSet") hold the properties of what you selected; ->select "BSLightingShaderProperty" and expand it to see its sub-blocks; ->go to "Shader Flags 1", on its right you'll see a list with properties such as "Specular|Vertex_Alpha|Receive_Shadows|etc...". Double-click on that list and you'll now see an arrow pointing downward appearing on the right end of the list; ->click on that arrow and now you can tick or untick those properties. Untick "Specular" and click anywhere else to confirm (don't press Enter/Intro) ->now just close the file and you'll be prompted to save or discard changes. Save it, overwriting the old file.
That's it! It may seem complicated at first sight but on practice it really isn't, and once you've done one file you'll do all the rest in 5 minutes.
winedave, probably you'll see this soon and maybe reupload the files, but until then I'll leave this fix for everyone around :) Please feel free to delete this comment once you update the files so to avoid confusion with future versions.
Thanks also from my side Tenken11! :) Great community effort! This worked great and the instructions were easy enough to understand. For others: Don't be driven away from these steps. It is just 15 mins max to get a great mod overhaul to run.
In my game blood can't splatter onto the road rocks. If I kill someone on the road their blood fills in the cracks of dirt around the stones, but not on the actual stones. I use enhanced blood textures. Does this happen for everyone or am I having a bug on my end?
aww damn. now i remember why i don't use blended mod. i saw these new textures and was like , i must have! but i remember the lack of blood was very noticeable and annoying to me. shame, as the redone textures are phenomenal! great work on this
I tried both your Blended Roads Redone and Hyperborean Snow mods and you did a fantastic job on both of them. I seem to have an issue, though, maybe it's on my end. Are these screenshots as-intended? The first combination, Blended Roads, have a slightly mismatched snow-road snow, but REALly Blended Roads have quite a different texture on the stone steps in addition to the mismatched snow-road snow texture.
Hey great mod! Really appreciate the fixes. I've been getting some of the visual bugs that some comments below have mentioned on the latest version of your mod. There will be patches of mismatched road meshes, especially with the lighting usually in the center of the road. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Lol sorry - it goes like this 1,2,4,8,16 and stops there. You can do for example about 6K if you do 2 by 4 but for squared textures it's as I first described

I uploaded the fixed meshes as a patch for anyone interested - all the credit to you and the original mod though!
I think it's a common problem seeing the comments below.
Turns out file names for the Reach road texture were incorrect and therefore not showing in-game. This can be corrected by just changing 2 file names:
roadreach01.dss ---> road01reach01.dds
roadreach01_n.dss ---> road01reach01_n.dds
Installation order:
Hyperborean Snow
Blended Roads
Blended Roads Redone
Blended Roads + Blended Roads Redone + Hyperborean Snow?
REAly Blended Roads + Blended Roads Redone + Hyperborean Snow
