This is not a magical fix all crashes device or a self building modualator machine, it would be impossible to stop all crashes without knowing your unique setup and why youre crashing. i personally cant remember the last time i crashed and i have 4k+hours in the CK.
My aim was to go for dozens of small things that could cause crashes, or performance issues, along with freeing up memory and adding the "load multiple masters" "block messageboxes" "block spell check" and more fixes
Alright, I'll ask (I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants this clarified). When you say to place this in the root directory not in the Skyrim game itself, where EXACTLY do you mean. Assuming the "standard" installation of Skyrim:
yes that is the root directory, terchnically you install wherever your creation kit is installed, which should always be games/apps/skyrim or wherever your skyrim launcher is located
Not sure if I should post here or under "Bugs" ... I don't think it's a bug with the files, but it started when I started using this: CK will no longer close correctly. When I exit the program, it just hangs on, and the only way to close it is to CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill it using Task Manager.
I don't know if it might be caused by this fix ... and even if it is, it's still a very small price to pay for being able to use CK more easily (no more loading errors, YAY). Just wondering if I'm the only one to experience this problem.
this option is the power behind almost all modern ck fixes, but it does cause a crash on close, no harm towards your mod when it doesnt close correctly, its just annoying. ck doesnt handle audio well and will crash the software alot. but this is a known issue and there is no way around it.
I was rather skeptical about using this. I really only wanted faster loading times, so I started off by arduously trying to compare my already heavily customized files with yours, and then decided to just throw caution to the winds---but only after backing up my original files, of course.
It worked GREAT! I usually have to wait three minutes for the Creation Kit to launch, and then an extra five to six minutes for my chosen mods to load. I think the whole loading process is down to maybe just over a single minute now? That's what it felt like at any rate.
Oh, and the other thing I absolutely love this for: The dialogue checks are super speedy now! Those usually take forever with their constant starts and stops, but now they're practically painless to sit through!
Thank you so much for creating and sharing this! I think it might save my sanity.
Many, MANY thanks for this ini files! Recently my CK keeps crashes upon landscaping/painting custom textures, and since my Town seems heavily cluttered I almost lost hope. Now I don't have to worry too much :) Needed just tweak resolution and placement of opened windows in CK from my own ini-files and now it runs smoothly Thank You very MUCH!
ty so much.this files fix all CK Start errors. (bEnableAudio=0) "This option reduces crashes by 90% but will cause a harmless crash whenever you close the CK" i used (bEnableAudio=1) and yes fix close crash. now my CK zero problem and works i maked it twinsouls mod "MaxTwnSouLs" max limit 20. ty so much again.
Still having problems, but ive learned to thrive even with the issues i was having years ago. been considering coming back to the modding scene. getting the creative itch lately
Well, I got as far as it opening in full screen but again, shows all the windows and just crashes.. I'm not sure why or whats goin on.. What CK are you using and where to Download, as the Bethesda one is for SE, and the only one I can find for regular is one off the net so not sure what to do here
