I'm having a weird issue; In the inventory the 'light orb' is still the bright white 100W halogen bulb, but in hands and cast it is the softer torch light as intended, except on NPC's. Farengar loves to cast it in his study at Dragonsreach, and in his hands it's still bright white and also white when he casts it.
Could this be caused by RLO's Illuminated Spells option? Which would be strange since it does not seem to effect the player's spell.. If RLO would override, I'd expect it to override for all casters.. Another culprit for causing this could be 5 minute ML & CL, but this also seems doubtful since it only messes with the duration.. (5 min. mod was loaded before your mod, and did indeed override the inventory file. I edited this mod so CL lasts 3 minutes with cast cost upped to 42 instead of 21 (5 min. was too much imo) and ML to 5 minutes at 105 cost (hey, they're magic torches aight ^^ ) ..ditched 5 min. mod).
Edit: See striked ..I loaded up RLO's Illuminated Spells in CK, but does not edit ML or CL, so I'm a bit 'in the dark' about why NPC's still use the halogen lighting.. I know it's a bit nitpicky, but RLO makes Farengar's study look like an arc-weld station..
Yeah was hoping this mod also affected NPCs and not just me. Farengar's candlelight crashes my game because it messes with my Haze Lights - torches create shadows" and ELFX combo. Torches don't but his arc welding light does.
I installed it with Enderal, and it works, but not perfeclty.
In Enderal the Magelight spell has 4 Ranks, but the mod works only with the Rank 1 Magelight spell. All the others are still the same, as the original spell with that ugly eyeburner-orb and white light. (Enderal Magelight)
Also there is no Candlelight spell in Enderal. There are two scrolls, BOTH named as "Scroll of Magelight (Cheap)" According to the Enderal-wiki, one of that scroll is "Magelight 5 pts for 120 seconds" the other one is "Candlelight 5 pts for 60 seconds". (Enderal Scrolls)
This mod became a "mandatory one" in my load order. TYVM.
Only one request, if possible: - I'd like to have the caster of candlelight not in the middle of the circle of light but asymmetric. More light in front, less (much less) behind.
Could you make this version? OR ... Could you explain how to achieve this using NiFSkope? (I know something about translation of main node along Y (front-rear) axis but I wish to be absolutely sure. Thanks again.
I'm not sure if it is the only one impacted. But this mod unfortunately seems to take the 'stream' effect away from the frostbite spell. I installed it, and the warm light is really very nice compared to the blinding orb beforehand but then frostbite had no visual stream. It did hit enemies, and did leave ice patches on the floor, so functionally things seem to work fine.
I uninstalled this and frostbite works correctly again.
I see you said you changed candlelight with new meshes/records due to the effects being used elsewhere. I'm wondering if maybe something was missed which would account for the missing beam/stream.
Note, I didn't try this with other spells yet, flames/sparlks and the like. As I only played an ice focused toon after I installed, so they may or may not be affected.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll take a look. If it's this mod it's likely the case that something referenced that I changed needs to be turned into it's own record like the other things to avoid this sort of unintentional consequence.
I tested it in my game and was unfortunately unable to replicate your results (To be absolutely sure I downloaded the exact copy from the Nexus). I also went through the entire ESP to look at every single reference (and I have screenshotted them and labeled them for you to look at). I additionally checked all of the vanilla versions of the references for Candlelight and Magelight and couldn't find a single reference to Frostbite.

What I would suggest doing is, opening all of your ESPs in TES5Edit and checking to see which mods you have are in conflict with this mod. It's likely that some other mod author made changes to both Candlelight (or more likely Magelight) and also Frostbite causing them to share a reference, conflicting with this mod, and causing your error. With this information and the screenshots above, hopefully I have helped you track down the issue :)
Nice! Thank you! For years I have shunned, and sometimes, begrudgingly used this spell. It always bothered me how "candle light" provided me with a magical LED. Again, thanks for the mod, it is appreciated.
I was using a red recolour of both spells for years because of how bright the default light is. I use RLO for my dungeons, so this is truly a welcome relief for my poor eyeballs.

Can you make an Enderal version of this mod?

Even if I don't, at least we can be sure it isn't down to this mod.
