This mod is great. However it has one flaw that keeps me from using it. During foggy weather it ruins the fog effect by pushing the foggy weather effect back so when I run it looks as if my character is chasing the foggy effect. You can also see a harsh "line" as the foggy effect gets drawn.
I know this is months old but, for anyone who is discouraged, it's as easy as opening the esp in TES5Edit and reverting all the fog weathers back to vanilla. I have mine heavily tweaked. Not just by weather, but by day vs night too.
Anyone knows how to solve the weather fogs? I opened tesedit but seems to me that the only changes that this mod does are on the fog weathers files... so if I change back to the original values, what is the point of the mod?
I have no experience with mods, but I'm trying to solve this issue.
I tested this with SSE and it looks so clean now. I also believe this to be safe for use, since it only changes exterior weathers fog values so it shouldn't destroy save games or something like that. I will do more testing and report back if I encounter any problems.
EDIT: Since this mod is for vanilla skyrim, it doesn't have flags for volumetric lightning so you lose it. Of course one could just open SSEEdit and add missing flags.
I've been curious a while: Does Revamped Exterior Fog get rid of the glowing distant mountain 'glitch' that tends to appear during rainy weather (and other weathers, I believe)? I removed vanilla fog to fix this problem, but I love foggy mountains so much and want them back. I've used this mod before, but I can't remember if it helped, made it worse, or had no change at all (with the glitch)... pregnant brain is real (and a b*tch).
Since I'm doing an extensively heavy deep-cleaning of my mod list & load order for the first time in several years - I figured now would be a good time to ask. (I'm sure this is answered somewhere... but I'm half blind rn - sooo forgive me if it is)
You make me soooo very happy....Okay, I'll stop. This, "this"...Mod, is "Sublime" and I love it, just what I been wanting, needing and you made it possible. You know, I try not to let folks comments get to me or change my mind. It's a great Mod, hands down! I just don't get it how these folks say these things, Oh, could it do this or not do that. This mod does exactly what I was looking for, omgosh, those clouds on the map were making me, koo-Koo. Not only did it do that, everything looks better all around and it's just right and enough for me. I hope you do not change it, it is perfect for what it is meant for, just what you intended. Thank You, so much.
I had to post. his mod is great. I love how 'Dark' Skyrim can be, but it sucks when you can't actually see. I combine this with Supreme and Volumetric Fog and it creates a very clear yet can be foggy environment that's just amazing. Thanks again for this mod.
Thanks for the mod! This makes the game look so much better. Ive been trying to track down my shadow sphere problem for weeks and it turns out it was just the silly way the game does fog.
you can see if fog is your problem by simply typing in console, setfog 0,222222 this is different to the shadow striping issue.
Gonna add some search terms to hopefully help others in the future.

Untick both items. Open the "data" folder. Tick the "RevampedExteriorFog.esp" file. Drag that file over the top "<data>" item and release. The warning should change to "Looks good". Click OK.

This kills immersion big time.

Is there any way to use this mod to actually achieve the OPPOSITE effect? Like, make the distance fog just a bit thicker, instead of clearer?
Would it involve editing the ESP? I'm not sure if that would be easy or not.

And in mod's list there is a flag:
