The basic mod is already dark but if you're using EL&FX mod with it it will make the game even darker (sometimes a little bit too much)...you'll NEED a torch or a light spell but sometimes it won't be enough...you can use the night vision (werewolf / vampire) or you can use the night google mod too. This mod aims to make nights more realistic / immersive (no light ouside = dark) and dungeons darker, scarier and more dangerous (you'll have to be careful with traps). Using night vision mods or even a torch without this mod is really useless (vanilla nights are as bright as day) but with this mod you'll need something to help you see into the darkness.
Without EL&FX i'm putting the game brightness to 0... with El&FX the game brighness is around 40-50%
I will try to see with the new RL version... because a lot of changes have been made...the RL 3.5 mod is no longer availiable and have been replaced by Realistic Lighting Overhaul (by Sydney666 who worked a lot with Pluto, the guy who made the original RL mod).
i've downloaded RLO to see how it works but apparently there is no more customizable file or patcher like with RL.
i'm still using RL 3.5 (3.4 is working fine too) + my settings (with an old but good FXAA Sharpness profil injector) + torches for RL + Enhanced light FX mod + brighness set to "0"...with those i think you will have the perfect combination of dark places, use of torches and new and better lighting system (and you still can change the brighness if it's too dark)
Turns out I loved you config. After trying a few different configs the dungeons weren't dark enough or it made snow look flat. You struck a perfect balance of very dark dungeons and good snow. Problem now is Realistic Lighting have been heavily updated. Please say your working on a config for the latest version...
Just wanted to thanks you for these absolutely amazing custom settings, I've been playing around with lightning mods for my latest playthrough and I wanted to use RLwc but the fire/torches etc. just weren't vibrant enough for me but this is exactly what I was looking for. As soon as I can I will be endorsing you.
@pasoihfpao : my v1.1 (for RL 3.4) has the same values as the 1.0 (RL 3.31)...I'm playing with it right now and i don't have any more black background problem with this one.
I'm using a custom SkyUI (i'm working with SkyUI team and MisterPete on a new set of icons) so maybe it's because of that too... but for now the SkyUI files are not avaliable for download (Work in progress)
