I'm reporting a mod conflict between this mod and Vilja Companion.
The rings work great until the player performs a radiant quest to perform music at an inn with Vilja. After performing, the rings are disabled. They can still be equipped, but no light is produced. This disabling is permanent - or until a new game is begun. Load order doesn't seem to matter.
I have also reported this conflict to Emma. Very likely the fault is in how light is managed during or after the performance by the Vilja script.
By the way, this is a nice little mod. It's a nice touch that players can disenchant the rings and combine light enchantment with other enchantments for new magical items.
Its impossible equip the ring in the favorite with vanilla hotkey. Can be assign but after equip the ring lose the vanilla hotkey. With More Hotkeys Please works great.
PS: Finishing test, I raise the radius from the "Colors"GlowLight01 in the CK and now becomes great for me.
I could confirm that the light alert mobs.
If you can equip multiples rings like me and have the radius of blue minor than the white ring is possible use the blue one as minor light source and the white one as major light source at same time due the white light be dominant and if you turned off the white automatically return to the blue light. This help when are places that a major light source can alert the mobs.
Quick question here. I've been looking into the source files for mods, and after looking at this...how hard would it be to add this effect to the enchantment on Magicka Sabers?
To clear up anybody wondering how this works and how to get them this is what you do:
1. open up your console with the tilde key above the tab (~). 2. type in exactly: help "ring of white light" and it will spit you out a number. 3. now type exactly: player.additem (whatever your number was without parentheses) 1 4. and now do the same player.additem with the same number and just change the last two characters for each ring with the table listed below: Blue: cb Blue: ec Green: ee Red: ef Orange: f0 Yellow: f1 Purple: f2 White: f3 Black: f4
Thank you for creating these Marbaus, interesting to experiment with your unique twist offering a variety of colortint flavors.
Installed your mod last night and haven't tested thoroughly; but i recall white/orange/yellow/blue can be used as suitable replacements for a torch/candlelight spell, some of the other colors would be fun but otherworldly. Light radius range/intensity set OK for me but might like an optional extended/intensified version for outdoors.
Of course, the first thing i did after adding your rings to inventory was simultaneously equip them all (have unlimited rings & amulets mod) including a 'Ring of Candlelight' (Candlelight Toggle v2.0 by Modinn). Managed to get 2 separate light orbs going which i did not think was possible yet with the skyrim game engine - - probably a glitch with the Candlelight Ring enchantment toggle.. Also appreciate how none of your rings caused issue with any other of my gear/mods.
fyi, here are ID codes found in my game which differ from shadesofcolor's search: --------------------------------------------- 280012cb ; Ring of Blue Light 280012ec ; Ring of Blue Light 280012ee ; Ring of Green Light 280012ef ; Ring of Red Light 280012f0 ; Ring of Orange Light 280012f1 ; Ring of Yellow Light 280012f2 ; Ring of Purple Light 280012f3 ; Ring of White Light 280012f4 ; Ring of Black Light ------------------------------------------- These ID codes may cycle/change via hex due to loading order/etc, don't know yet.
What I appreciate the most about your lighting solution is the ELIMINATION OF THE HOVERING LIGHT ORB. BRAVO! YOU ARE A GENIUS. As you know, that cursed orb is blinding especially in 3rd person view in a dark dungeon. I've needed to modify DDS brightness/contrast textures and NIF glow layers to turn these down.
Anyway, thanks again for 'Rings of Light Enchantment - Dungeon Gear-Pack 1' - it's a keeper - - looking forward to dungeon delving with whatever you have planned next. How about optional rings of light that include detect life + detect undead enchantments; or, an on-the-go active keyboard toggle/dial/slider to adjust light range, intensity &/or colortint lol.

Though if you disenchant them, then reenchant something else the enchant and effect works properly until load/cell change.
