I'm from Sweden and I totally agree with you. It doesn't make sense that a nordic based creature resembles a gorilla. I've tried different texture replacers but none of them goes all the way like this one.
This looks really awesome, before I download though, what is the resolution of the trolls? Also, do you plan on doing a frost troll version as well for consistency?
The resolution is 2k. I can't do the frost trolls, as this is just a retexture of a mod that makes frost trolls and regular trolls look identical. Sorry.
Can't get the mod to install, but then again, I can't seem to get the necessary "Classic Arena Trolls" to install either... I'm using nexus mod manager. Unfortunately the mod author of the prerequisite file isn't active on that page, so asking him for assistance seems futile. Thoughts? I'm sure it'll end up being a simple fix.

I'm not sure. Have you tried installing it manually? Sometimes with older mods like Classic Arena Trolls they don't work properly with the Mod Manager, so installing it manually might fix it.
Hey pal, tried a manual install for both mods, and no success :( I also tried a manual install, but I changed the "striga.dds" files to "troll.dds", and tried multiple file paths, but to no avail. I'm surprised no one else is facing this issue. I'm generally quite good at finicky mods that don't cooperate with an installation, but this one has got me stumped haha
If you hear anything else about this issue be sure to reach out to me! In the meantime I'll admire this mod from afar ;) Good work.
That is very strange. Do you have any other texture or mesh mods that edit the trolls that might be conflicting? 'Cause I can't really imagine what else could be causing this issue.
Thanks for your time on this issue man, I just simply haven't been able to get this mod or the necessary Arena Trolls into the game. Though my game is modded, my Trolls hadn't been touched as far as meshes or textures went at the time of me installing your mod. Just super weird :( Oh well, don't mind me honestly, I'd just like to extend this problem out in the open in case anyone else is facing the same issue. I'm glad this mod exists all the same!

This a fantastic idea! I actually like Skyrims trolls a lot, but my visions of what trolls are (as someone who grew up in America) come mainly from English folklore and moreso from fantasy novels. So when I first found them in Oblivion, I was slightly taken aback, but eventually liked them regardless.
That said, I later learned a little bit about Scandanavian trolls and their true origins, and found this fascinating. Then just this year I stumbled across the movie Troll Hunter, and although it would seem a far more accurate portrayal of trolls, I am just an ignorant American on the subject still and would be happy to read the thoughts of others on how accurately they are portrayed in this movie.
