Thought I would also post a "review" for those that are skeptical about trying this out: (These insights come from 22 hours of playing the AIO version and about 80-100 hours playing with Rikushai's older standalone versions) Ease of install= 10/10 Aesthetics= 9/10 Gameplay= 10/10 Compatibility= 9/10 (would be a full 10, but Flamebringer becomes super OP with certain mods) OVERALL SCORE= 9.5/10 The Flamebringer AIO aims to bring numerous spells, a shout, and a "spellsword"-type weapon together in a comprehensive playstyle that doesn't require you to switch between different spells/shouts/weapons. With a very heavy focus on fire and the lingering destruction brought on by fire, Flamebringer gives the player an opportunity to enjoy a seamless gameplay experience that is not only fluid and fun, but is also completely devastating to their enemies. This is just the surface description of what I've come to find is a highly adaptive style of combat that will see you through next to every encounter ( I say "next to" because there is a level of finesse needed to bring the Flamebringer to it's highest potential). Do you enjoy a stealthy playstyle? Flamebringer can make you invisible while also allowing you to "melt" mid to low level chest locks. Enjoy a more magicka based playstyle? There's a nifty spell in the gloves that allows you to heal yourself if you are under 25%, heals your allies, and deals a decent amount of fire damage when your health is high enough. This is all in a SINGLE spell. Meaning there is no need to sift through your favorites for the right situational spell. What about Conjurers and Necromancers? The sword has an ability that summons a pretty strong Flame Atronach (not permanent) when you back peddle heavy attack. There's also the ability to raise your enemies (creatures AND people) from death with a lefty heavy attack. What about warrior builds? The Flamebringer sword has you WAAAAY covered. The sword levels with you, you can heal with bash attacks, and your fire beams can cover mid range combat decently (dragon fights are more seamless for me as I'm not switching between long range and melee weapons midfight). But what's more impressive than being able to cater to the big 3 playstyles (ranger, melee, and magic), is the Flamebringer's ability to seamlessly integrate all 3 styles into a completely satisfying (albeit a little OP in the early game) All In One experience. I highly suggest Flamebringer to all those looking to spend less time in their menus and more time actually playing the game.
With all of that being said, my experience is going to differ from others as we do not all use the same mods. For those looking for a few mods to enhance your Flamebringer experience, I have these for you to check out; ORDINATOR-Hands down the best mod to use with Flamebringer. THUNDERCHILD- Doesn't really effect Flamebringer, but still brings some fun shouts to use along side your Flamebringer sword. CLOUD ARMOR/KYNEREEVE ARMOR/URSINE ARMOR/RESPLENDENT ARMOR (Tarnished version)- These are more for the males that aren't excited about the way the chest piece looks. The Cloud Armor mod is sleeveless on the right arm so if you end up using the Flamebringer Tattoo, you'll be able to see your tattoo while also enjoying a decent looking set of armor. YOUR CHOICE OF FIRE HD MODS- Gotta make those flames look pretty! WINTERSUN- This is more for RPing than anything else. I played a dark elf who had given his life to Mehrunes Dagon because the tennents for Dagon worship requires you to kill strangers. I sided with the Stormcloaks to help bring revolution to Skyrim (Dagon is the prince of revolution) and became a one man walking natural disaster. ZIM'S IMMERSIVE ARTIFACTS- Really this mod is good for only 1 item (well, to me any way): Thu'um Fahdon (probably spelled it wrong). Basically it's a sword you can disenchant that can decrease your shout cooldown. ASTOUNDING FLAME ATRONACHS- Just a model replacer for all flame atronachs. Makes their legs look...better? TK DODGE- You should be using this anyways lol Wonderful mod that brings Skyrim up to date with other action rpg titles.
Hopefully this long-winded "review" will encourage more people to try out this criminally underrated mod as it really is a lot of fun. Rikushai has mentioned that a Lightning and Ice versions may be in the works in the future, so getting familiar with Flamebringer will undoubtedly be a great way to prep for Riku's upcoming projects.
Very good review! I have only used the (now obsolete) flamebringer, but I can attest to everything. This mod is just that good. And thanks a lot for the mentioning of armor, I've been searching far and wide for an armor that is sleeveless on just the right side, perfect for the flamebringer tattoo!
Hello I am new to this mods recently I have downloaded this mods and I love it I have not had a complaint if not until now I have a problem with the sword suddenly it has stopped launching the power cuts that she grabs I do not know why I uninstalled the mods and I reinstalled it but without luck I don't know why this happens to me if someone knows I would like you to help me please I would be very grateful ah and one more thing by chance this mods does not have a male version and excuse my bad spelling I'm not very good at english
I just added this on my list of mods, and I have to admit. It is very nice. The only issue I'm having so far is the flame spell/heal keeps disappearing. Would there be a way to debug this without having to look it up in console command? Or is that part of how the mod works? I notice sometimes "Flame Aspect Added" in the notifications and sometimes it shows back up then. Also, I would love to be informed when you do the lightning and ice version, possibly even a full trifecta merge for a full-on spellsword. The best aspect is it reminds me a lot about the original SPellsword from DnD in some way, which was revised and called Magnus later on sadly. The mix of melee/ranged males attacks and powerful spells. No other mod hits that style like yours. To see the three combined and possibly even add in the other trees in some way too would be nice. But that's a roadmap that will take time.
How would your mod interact with the mod Loot and Degradation? Loot and Degradation has an option which makes the weapon completely break. But if the Flamebringer breaks.. that would literally break your mod. So idk, are they somehow compatible?
1. would this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/99153?tab=files change the look of the flamebringer bloodskal-like fire beams as well? 2. Is this mod incompatible with CGO? A lot of us have reported that CGO is breaking the vanilla bloodskal blade beam. the mod author says it only works if you use the 2-handed grip. Your amazing mod here is a 1-handed sword. So if using CGO with your mod and switching to a 2-handed grip.. would it still work? Do you possibly want to make a compatibility patch? (I know it's a lot to ask). Again thank you.
Also I'm sharing your mod wherever I can, it deserves more recognition!!
Is it possible for someone to make a compatibility patch between this mod and Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim by Enaisaion? When you follow the "good guys" like Stendarr, Arkay and possibly Meridia one of the tenets is to never summon the undead/daedra. However one of the flamebringer's abilities is to summon a flame atronach, which makes you lose favor from the holy deities if that deity is Stendarr, Arkay, Meridia etc. I play as a Paladin, so to constantly get the message "Stendarr abandons you" because I accidentally use a backward power attack which summons the flame atronach.. yeah you get the point. I'm also quite sure the left power attack of the flamebringer (the one which makes dead people/creatures come under your control) counts as a conjuration spell, and that also reduces the favor from Stendarr, Arkay etc.
nja it whould be pretty unimmersive when i declare that both spells not as conjurationspell so that you can use them without a "baaad boy!" from your fav. God :D
I'm still mad this mod didn't get the recognition and praise it deserves! :/ There's not a single other mod on the nexus doing something like this, I feel like it's an absolute must for every Paladin player out there, or a Fire-Spellsword or even a Pyromancer-Battlemage.
First of all, love the mod, it's a wonderful new gameplay style and I'm looking forward to many hours with it. Though, I am a few hours into a new playthrough and have run into a couple of issues with the shout I was hoping you might be able to help with (trying to salvage the save, haven't tested it on a clean one yet, but this save was started with the mod installed).
Basically, the added effects for some of the words don't activate, specifically no melting locks and no soultrap. Everything else, as far as I can tell, is working. I'm guessing it's a scripting thing, and it may very well be something strange on my end because I know I had it working before months ago on a dirty save, but any help would be appreciated. Everything else works wonderfully.
ps. already tried load order issues and looking through the .esp, but nothing jumped out at me.
i dont know i played on a new playthrough and i have no issues for my self o.o and i cant see the difference between a new and a old save o.o
the only thing that i could imagine is that the background quest is not applyed automaticly but that should be a game issue and should be fixed automaticly after save -> exit game -> load save then the quest schould be applied.
thats the only "Issue" that i can imagine for your problems o.o - but how i sayed - should be fix automaticly
I don't know if anyone repoted this, but I find myself not able to see the purgatory enchancement when added with another enchancement the flaming effect dissapears.
thats not a bug that is how skyrim handles enchantments only one enchantment will be shown i dont know wich restictions the game actually take to choose wich enchantment will be shown.^^
I knew it was worth the wait! Can't wait to try out this all in one version :D I've already been using the (now obsolete) flamebringer mod, and I must say there is not a single other mod like this on the entire nexus, actually there are not many specific spellsword mods at all. Thankfully we have the flamebringer in all its glory ;)
in the pictures whit the girl sneaking do you use some pose manager or is a behavior replacer(more probable, because the eye)? looks prety cool can you point the way plz
just a simple animation replacer.. i cant tell you wich one sorry i grab my animation folder since around 4 years with me and just replace single just animations mostly from big animation packs x'D I use many animations from YY animation replacer, pretty combat animations.. could be from one of them but thats only a (un)lucky guess.
