For the Female Rose pack, I noticed that some of the voice files were a lot quieter than others. I found a way to easily fix that. After installing the mod with a mod manager, download WaveGain 1.3.1 from the RareWares website. Extract the file and the frontend file within, and then launch the frontend. Click 'Directory' in the top right and navigate to this mod's folder. On the top left, check 'Include sub-folders', and in the bottom left check 'Extra Gain' and set it to 5.0 dB. Then, just click 'Calculate and apply' in the bottom right. All of the files are now the same volume!

It seems that +8.0 dB better matches the voice with the voices of other NPCs.

Cool stuff! I used Audacity but I'll keep your tips in mind!

I didn't even know there was an SSE version of Additional Player Voices! But you can just use this mod with SSE without any issues, it's just a bunch of sound files. Download the one that you like, install it manually or with a mod manager, and everything should work fine.

    What situations trigger the voices?

I added lines for all voice events supported by Additional Player Voices. For a list of supported voice events, see the Voice Events section in the description of Additional Player Voices: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21215

Hey, great voice acting, but I have a problem with this mod. The only lines I ever here (I installed the Rose version) are "I am a force to be reckoned with", "if that is all you need" and "all right then" (I since deleted the second and third one, just don't really seem to fit). I probably have like 40 hours at this point with the mod and I never heard a single line other than those. I tried reinstalling (both the additional player voices, and your voice pack, didn't work and I don't know what else to do, just doesn't really makes sense to me, considering no one else seems to be having this problem.

Any idea how to fix this? It's really frustrating

Sorry to hear that! I just downloaded the Rose pack and the Additional Player Voices framework to give it a test, but everything worked correctly for me. I was able to trigger voices for shooting an arrow, discovering locations, starting combat, killing enemies/having a follower kill an enemy, entering dungeons, levelling, sneaking... Basically everything except consuming a dragon soul, because I didn't have a handy save for that. So it doesn't seem that the problem lies with the voice pack.

That said, I'd try the following things:
      1. Do the voice lines play correctly if you open them manually from within the Data\sound\fx\nhva\set2 folder? (I'm assuming yes, but just to check.)
      2. Do other voice packs from this mod work?
      3. Do voice packs from other mods for Additional Player Voices work?
      4. Do you have any other mods that could be affecting player sounds? Combat sound or shout replacers, for example?

My mod just provides the wav files, and they don't seem to be broken in the download, so I'd look for something that is incompatible with Additional Player Voices. Unfortunately I never had this issue myself, so I can't provide any more information. Fingers crossed that you can get it to work!

Thanks, glad you liked the mod! And Kikiapplus is great, isn't she? Hard to believe all female voices in the resource were done by one person. Amazing versatility! Christian Gaughf (VA for the male Charming set) is very good too, of course. If you want, you can drop Kikiapplus a line in the comments here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/90838

(I'm a woman btw just to set the record straight :D)

Will you consider making a version of this for SSE version of player headtracking? :O

I don't think I know that one, can you link it?

ETA if you mean the SE version of HHaley's mod then the voice packs I'm working on will work with both Oldrim and SE.

Ah yes thank you. I only realized after I posted that they were compatible from the get go, thank you for you work. I cant wait until I can use these! I'm trying to think really hard on how to make a player character that can use the goblin voice. :'D
Also may I ask, do you know a program that can open the .xwm files so I can listen to invidual voices without opening the game?

Haha, for one of the screenshots, I created a goblin in RaceMenu by basically resizing an orc and giving her different ears and greener skin. :D

I'm not sure what can open xwm files, but there are several utilities on the Nexus that convert XWM to WAV and vice versa. I haven't used any of them, but this one seems popular: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8303/

I haven't actually bothered to convert the audio files in these voice packs to XWM, and I may or may not do it for the PC Head Tracking version. I know it's recommended, but I haven't noticed any downsides to using WAV files, and there are some benefits for the mod user to be able to open the files outside of the game. I haven't decided yet, what do you think?

Naah, I think it's the same for both. I think I'll just use WAV files like in this version. I'll see how it works during testing.

I asked on the skyrim modding discord and someone said that they dont know any issues, except that .wav files maybe being a little more quiet ingame, so .wav should be good to go! :ok_hand:
May I ask if the voice sets will include combat voices like attacks and power attacks?

Brilliant, thanks a milion for checking!! I noticed that the files can be a bit quiet but normalizing them with Audacity seems to solve this. Didn't know it had to do with the format!

Re: attacks and power attacks, yep, absolutely! There will be a few of those each. Also blocking, kill cam, friendly hits and more - the cvr voice sets are really quite rich in content!

No worries! It's gonna take a few days, because I don't want to release it until all voice sets are done, but hopefully sometime over the weekend!
