i couldn't argue with that, and if you have any shout's that can knock them on their back is even better especially if it's frost or fire breath. those will make easy work on them.
Hey Mihail, I know how to get this creature to have two stages, one with the mounted horse, and the second with just the rider fighting you.
Since skyrim can't transition between two different rigs, you cheat it. Have them crumble to dust on death, then have the rider erupt from the dust pile and combat you. You use the ash wraith dust pile death effect first, then you basically revise the flame atronach death explosion to be a dusty/earthy explosion(that does no damage), attach that to this npc, and have the explosion form itself spawn the rider.
It's not perfect, but it would be cool effect. If you don't do it, I'll do it in Rogue-like Encounters with these guys and a few other creatures that would do well with secondary stages.
its actually a pretty good idea. i made a similar thing on the bonetyrant from necromaster skills and the vampire lords from vampire lord expansion, it works. the only reason i dont made it here is cus in the other cases is one for another, one body disappears, other appears, but here the horse will simply disappear, and i tought this could be strange, but still its a good idea, maybe in future updates. do it on rogue like encounters, lets see if results fine.
You have to use the model-swap part of the script too.
I've made two extra models from yours, one with just the pygmy draugr, and one with just the horse without its reins for death swap-outs. In one instance, you knock the two down and the pygmy draugr jumps back to life in a cloud of dust, using vicn's model, leaving behind just the dead horse. In the the other instance, the horse comes back to life. The game decides which one during the spawning process.
makes me wonder why draugr on horseback were never a part of vanilla skyrim. also got me thinking of the wild hunt from witcher 3. so just wondering if you've ever considered making a wild hunt mod that pursues the player throughout skyrim? kind of like your nemesis mod
