Does this work with Timing is Everything? That mod lets you adjust the level requirement for the quest to begin, and even lets you set a separate level requirement for the comments to start showing up too.
This is INDEED a great idea. First becouse the first times i didn't even know that this hall of the vigilants ever existed so i almost never saw it before being destroyed, second couse it lets people decide when start the dawnguard. If i may, i would suggest another <possible> edit: remove the requirement for the main quest's elder scroll, since in the end, most of what you need is inside the one held by Serana and the other by his mother. So in that way you could also play the Dawnguard DLC without being connected with the main quest. Like playing a non-dragonborn character, for example.
Cool mod. RDO will still start the quest anyway though when an NPC mentions that the Dawnguard is reforming. Just saying that line burns the place down even if you haven't been there.
I use this along with your Dawnguard - Tweaks and Enhancements mod, thanks for these. I adore mods that extend guild quest lines, like the good old Morrowind, Oblivion days. I know there are mods that do the same for The Companions, Thieves and Mages quest lines. But i can't seem to find one that does the same sort of extension to the Dark Brotherhood quest line.
If you want an immersive reason to go to the Hall of the Vigilant, you can use the Missives mod (an amazing mod by the way), quite often you get a quest on the missive board to kill a vampire, after you do, the quest tells you to go to the Hall of the Vigilant to collect the reward.
Another way is to have diseased installed. Then if you get the lurgy at early level, (i..e. before you've got a copy of Natural Remedies), you have to go to the hall to get a cure, (as it's the only place you can save yourself from jelly bottom if bed rest doesn't work).
Weird how I was thinking if there was a mod that did just this, just a few days ago. Because after you install Dawnguard, you almost never get the chance to visit the Hall of Vigilant before it *poofs*.
