Hey guys it's me, uh.. VOiD from ... the void...? Intro is a work in progress... Do people even have intros for comments? Sorry...
As you probably can tell by now I'm not actively maintaining this patch. I'm really sorry about this I really want to help my fellow modders out and make patches, but after keeping silent for years both you and I can pretty much establish that I am not up to the task. I'm not taking the patch or this page down however as it might be something I'd like to work on in the future. But as of now, I don't play Skyrim LE any longer and I hope someone else will help you with any compatibility patch you may need.
Botox (when I made this patch, the version was 1.52) used different meshes than Skyrims regular patches, so the textures and tri files needed to be changed from a mod that would add any eye textures. I don't know if Botox has records that affect males but at 1.52 it didn't (as far as I know) so just copy the fields of the female eyes.
Copy all the new eye "head part" records to a new ESP file.
Change each of the new records (in your new patch) values pointing to the ones that are used by Botox for Skyrim except the textures, as those are the ones we want to use with Botox for Skyrim's .NIF and .TRI files.
The way I did it was I went back into Botox_Chargen.esp and found the location of the NIF and TRI files and changed those three fields in the new patch.
It's literally 3 values per record that needs to be changed. Just copy paste on each new face part.
If someone can make sense of this, please feel free to use the instructions to make compatibility between Botox for Skyrim and another mod. Copy records of eyes that don't fit on Botox in xEdit to a new .esp, Edit the location of the x2 TRI and x1 NIF file for each eye texture you've copied. I was contacted by a user named here on Nexus mods (jlowen), I became motivated enough to give you guys a status update. I'm grateful the patch helped those of you in the past and I feel bad for not keeping the patch up to date with fresh patches for newer versions.
hey. i've been toying with this for most of today. and the patch seems to work fine for all my other races except nord. the eyelash sits squarely in the middle. any idea? i'm utterly perplexed.
Second screen shot seems to show the same massive error, with the eyelash rendering in mid-eye, except on an elf of some sort. Has this mod even been tested before it was released? I wonder if this is fixable.
My bad Darklocq, it was supposed to be a before/after comparison picture, but I didn't add any context to image #2. I understand the confusion. Sorry also for being 2 years late with my reply to something you've probably forgotten about. :)
Disable this mod, it's not compatible with new version of botox, install an archive version and use this mod with it, make sure your botox has botox-chargen.esp in it
New version of Botox came out recently. Can this patch be updated to work with the new version? The chargen is not loner part of base mod and is not recommended as may be causing invisibility glitch. Would like to see Botox and EoB working together! Thanks!
Hi jlowen -- If I start using Botox for Skyrim again I'll make a compatibility patch for Eyes of Aber and upload it to this mod's page. For the moment, feel free to "Track" this mod and you'll be notified in your "Tracking Center" when this page gets updated with any new patches. You can always stop tracking my mod once you get your patch ^-^
can you do this for the other eye pack too like mikan eyes? really appreciate this cause i were going crazy on why are there eyelash right in the middle of my eyes
Unfortunately I took a break from Skyrim around May. I'm not sure if I'll be using Botox for Skyrim once I get back, but if I do I'll make a patch for both "Mikan Eyes" and "The Eyes of Aber" (suggested by jlowen) and upload the patches to this page.
My suggestion is to "track" this mod's page (top of this page, to the left of the "Endorse" button) and you'll be notified in your "Tracking Center" if I upload any new patches here.
Hm.. even with the patch I still have major issues with eyes if I use Botox. I only use "the eyes of beauty - player" and the eyes are still in the forehead (as well as the shape is very weird).
edit: NVM, found a hack for this - disabling the botox chargen plugin
