Seams: Painted directly on the mesh and still has those fake AO pacthes embedded in the meshes (or whatever it's happening)
This litte bastard took me WAY more time than I suspected and Im honestly sick of this problematic fella, so I'm done with it.

    Thank you, mr ElSopa.
This is the reason, why never done HD textures for bristleback before, they are really hard bastards! Happy New Year

P.S. I noticed an old urn textures at your 17th screenshot. You do not using your own HD textures? Why?

Maybe ElSopa took the screenshot while working on the Bristleback, before making the Urn retexture.

      lmao nice detail
It's because I use a proflile with 2 or 3 mods to test my textures, since I have to launch the game an endless amount of times, I want it to launch as fast as possible, so every second counts

if i recall, there's a trick to help testing textures ingame w/o reloading. i used it years ago. was basically alt-tabbing out, replace texture, back in game use disable enable w/ console, and new texture shows.

      edit; sorta like that

i believe the problem you're referring to is vertex normals.meaning they do not match one could fix th orientation in 3dsmax,or just smooth themout in nifskope.

but editing verex normals is somethgin one can only do in max.blender oly allows to fix seams, but not bad patches of light.. Nifskope is pretty much the same as blender in this case,so why bother?

The mismatched normals on seams can be fixed in blender easily -- just import the model, run Remove Duplicate Vertices, then export.

it doesn't actually fix the issue.it'll oversmooth the mesh.ideals would be to fix orientation through 3dsmax.but blender lacks normal editor,so we can't cerreate fake shadows through normals.

Another issue is using planar mapping of non-seamless textures. In cases like this where there is no baking done, tri-planar must be used.

Maybe because the meshes are so bad, a darker color (like the original) would hide the problems more? Your light-colored fur seems to highlight the mesh's deficiencies. Just a thought! I'm going to give it a try in-game. Thanks for your work!

Hmm, the mesh needs to be fixed. It doesnt do justice to such a great texture. I gave up on this one because it is just so bad. You did a great job with such a limited mesh. Bravo

I don't understand what's going on with that mane, but you have done an excellent job. I don't have any experience with meshes and textures, but that mane looks like a nightmare to work on. Thanks for the 1K textures, as my laptop is a wind-up model.
