Hey there. Sorry for the delay on this. I'll take a look at it in the next coupla days sometime, but I'm pretty sure it should still be fine to use as is in 3.2. I know the latest Requiem update did add a few perks to followers - but I suspect those are also covered by this mod.
This was made for Requiem 2.0+. Unfortunately, I don't think it's compatible with 1.9.4.1, as the "back-end" perks that manage followers were changed in 2.0. Not sure if it would cause game-breaking bugs/ctds if you tried using it on an older version or not, but officially I can't recommend it.
A bit late, but a 1.9.4 version has just been uploaded to the Optional Files.
Turns out very little needed to be changed at all. Those "back-end" perks I mentioned before were only renamed in Req 2.0, but they kept the same FormIDs, so the patch could mostly be used as is. The only issue was in some Hearthfires' housecarls outfits (since in 1.9.4, Hearthfires wasn't part of the official Requiem package yet), which CodeNamed1 pointed out to me.
Here's a mod with with followers, that you may, or may not, be interested in creating a patch for. Relationship Dialogue Overhaul - RDO by cloudedtruth https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74568/? Its a mod used in Ultimate Skyrim. It adds 5 (or possibly 6) new followers, there is a Requiem patch for RDO, but it does not update the followers.
Very nice, thank you. I've been using MA for a very long time but this seems more balanced overall so I'll be using it for a while. Thank you for your time.
Shoooould be fine? I know perks cannot be applied to NPCs "dynamically" in-game (like how the player chooses a perk on level-up), but whatever perks they have defined when the game is launched should just be applied to them. Information like what perks a given NPC "had" is not baked in to the save (as far as I know).

There should have been no problems even if you were using the previous version.
Should also be safe to update during a game in progress (although as always when doing that, no guarantees)
I know it is potentially a LOT to ask. But if you ever have the time, will you consider making a 1.9.4.1 version? If not, I totally understand.
