Note: I am not working on this mod anymore, as I have made a bigger, better overhaul for undead which you can find here. Draugr Upgrades and Improvements may still get an update every now and then to address any bugs or balance issues, but will not get any new content. While you can still play with D.U.I. without any problems, I recommend switching to The Restless Dead at your earliest convenience.
- Fixed a couple of bugs. - Changed some numbers for better balance. Primarily, you should notice that high level archers now do less damage.
- Skeleton overhaul: - Skeletons have leveled variants (in the vanilla game all skeletons were level 1). - Skeletons have the same perks and abilities that were given to Draugr by this mod. - Skeletons are tougher, though still weaker than their Draugr counterparts. - Skeletons come in several armored variants.
I have also uploaded a patch for my other enemy overhaul, Rogues 'n Raiders. With this patch, Draugr and Skeletons will use RnR's injury system. The patch is completely optional. If you don't want injuries you can still use Rogues 'n Raiders and Draugr Upgrades and Improvements together, just don't install this patch.
Version 2.4.1 fixes an issue where updating the mod in the middle of a game could cause it to crash in certain locations. As a result of this some skeletons will retain their original appearance and skills, others will update only after they respawn. I will be replacing all skeletons manually, so future updates should overhaul most or all skeletons.
In Version 2.4.2 I replaced most (probably all) of the remaining vanilla skeleton enemies. I have also added Headless and Crippled Skeletons to the leveled lists.
That was the plan was just wondering. Also the usleep patch for restless dead can be removed after clearing the bleak falls burrow or kept the entire game?
i disapointed i game only no death my character have 450 hp and 300 armor when i attack draugr boss Curalmil on legendary dificult i take own 4x damage and die this damage multiplicate and no work with armor just ignore so creators of the mod make thiss boss impassable for melee builds nice work( mod is piece of s#*! sorry for my eng
First of all, I apologize for putting Reflect Damage on an enemy without warning, it's something that I've been meaning to change in an update for quite some time.
However, calling my mod a piece of s*it based on one single encounter is uncalled for. You play with permanent death mode on Legendary difficulty, you're choosing to take a risk. You found an enemy who beat you. Deal with it. Melee builds can kill Curalmil easily, just don't hit him in the few seconds where he has magic effects swirling around him.
Today I learned the first word of drain vitality, but the character doesn't actually say the word for the shout, it only does the effect. Is there anyway to fix this bug?
This bug persists even after uninstalling the mod.
That doesn't sound like a bug that would be caused by this mod. D.U.I. does not edit any shouts, it just adds some new ones that are used only by Draugr.
Edit: Unrelated to your issue, but you're missing the update for the mod.
Ehhh, you'd have to track down the cause of the issue before seeing how to fix it. Like I said, D.U.I. does not touch shouts or sound files, so maybe check if any mods you use edit those things? Or maybe a player voice mod.
I found the issue and solved it, it was due to PC headtracking, I don't know how, but apparently shout voicelines are tied to the female even toned, female high elf, etc., the standard voices for the player characters, so if you change the voice to say, female dark elf, female commoner, female nord, etc. the shouts have no voicefiles. This happens with DLC shouts, Vanilla shouts are perfectly fine.
Eventually, yes. It's a feature which I meant to add ages ago... still haven't got round to it, but since I'll be adding something like that for The Restless Dead I might as well do it for D.U.I. too.
Hey, I'd like to use this mod in the middle of a playthrough, but my game crashes whenever I try to use it. LOOT doesnt tell me I have any conflicts with other mods, but I can post a list with what mods I'm using if that helps with sorting this out. Thank you and wish you a good day.
The game crashes even if you simply include it in your load order? I've never had that issue reported before. Have you tested if it works with a new game?
Also, just to make sure, this is the Legendary Edition version of the mod. You're playing that, and not the Special/Anniversary Edition, right?
I am using LE, I am absolutely certain of it. I have tried it again with a new game, it works now. I wonder if its possible to make it work in the current playthrough, I dont feel like starting all over again after 60 levels.
I am using a mod for the Red Eagle sword, perhaps that is the reason? Although I dont understand how it would work for a new save and not for an already existing one when that mod is still active in the new save too.
Edit: I tried without the red eagle sword mods, still doesnt work. I suspect its because I already cleared some of the special draugr bosses in this playthrough.
Yes, you may be too far along in that playthrough and parts of the mod are conflicting with what has already been spawned. But check if your current save places your character in a dungeon containing Draur or Skeletons, it's possible that one single NPC could be crashing your game.
You could also try moving your character to some quiet interior cell, saving, activating the mod, resetting interior cells, then checking dungeons again.
Sounds like an animation issue, and this mod does not modify animations at all. Do you have any mods that modify Draugr/Skeleton animations, or animations in general? It's more likely to be the source of the problem.
Hello, thanks for your reply. No, nothing of the sort. I have removed immersive creatures before installing your mod, so I suppose my savefile is just busted, as I noticed the occasional T-pose happening to other random creatures.
It just occured to me that this thing seems to have no support for Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade (aka ccor). Would it be necessary? Could someone add support for it? Overhaul mods suck at times...
Honestly, I believe the impact of a CCOR patch, or lack thereof, is minimal. I can't remember for sure, but I doubt I've even added any craftable items in DUI. The only thing you'd need, if you're very, very insistent on total consistency, is recipes for breaking down the rusty weapons you'll find on Draugr. I definitely don't have the time/interest to make a CCOR patch (I don't even use the mod), but anyone wanting to have a go at it can go right ahead, I don't have a problem with it.
This has been enjoyable for me and I like the changes. When I was making a bashed patch, however, Wrye Bash threw a warning that this mod was using form 43. Is that true? I haven't downloaded the new Steam CK to look.

Is it possible to fix soundfiles with tes5edit?
I checked the shouts with it, but I found no issue or edit

Thank you for your suggestion
At least I know I can use this mod, since it spices things up.
