I love the idea of your mod, to bring one of the most interesting vanilla-NPCs back, but
a) there are already several mods which do exactly the same thing (or even better, e.g. with original voice) and b) they do so without changing her appearance + that of another character, who has nothing to do with the whole episode.
My suggestion would be to split both ideas into two separate mods.
I downloaded your mod, finished the Lost to the Ages quest and several game days have passed and still no Taron Dreth. Where do you find him?
I finally found Taron and completed the resurrection quest. When i went to give Katria better armor I found she was using my installed Meshes (CBBE) but her textures were UPN.This created a real mess of her body. I was going to change meshes and textures to match but was unable to locate the files. Im not a modder but so texture/meshes often. I would have liked to use your mod but will not with the current problems.
Ehh staying away also...my guess is she is using the characters assets/female files in the Skyrim Meshes folder and the only thing that is unique about her is the facegeom file and voice.....no thanks he should just create a standalone follower and call it a day.
The path to change body meshes is data\meshes\body The path to change body textures is data\textures\body
There are ITMs, which the author should clean, or warn if they are purposefully there and should not be removed. And apparently it alters not only Serana, but Frea too. That could be solved by installing other npc overhaul mods after this one, and place them below this one in the load order.
The mod surely could use some maintenance, i hope the author is still active.
EDIT: i found out why the body is CBBE, but textures were UNP. The author created the custom body in the plugin, but the paths to the textures were kept default, so it will use whatever the user has installed, instead of what the author intended.
Phew, was getting back into modding, remembered this mod and was thinking of trying to port it to SSE. I was planning on using CBBE this time though and it doesn't sound like that will go too well. You sound like you know a lot more than I do, what would you recommend to fix whatever is happening, or is this a lost cause?
Before porting the mod to SSE, you must change the body meshes and textures to either cbbe, unp, or other bodyslide sets. Other appearance overhauls for Katria that don't have an esp file (Project SNNR, for example) can be used, but you have to change the head files' weight to 100 in Creation Kit and then replace the one in Katria.esp folder with the new file thanks to that bloody custom body (Putting the _0.nif files in the body folder won't work. The only way to work around should be getting rid of the custom body paths in the esp file, but I don't know how to do it). As for Serana and Frea, I suspect the changes can be removed by getting rid of their ids in TES5Edit. I haven't tested that one yet since I use Bijin NPCs, and I am too lazy to mess with my mods now. This mod would be perfect without all the appearance changes and its custom body. Its counterparts either don't use Katria's original voice or get rid of Mjoll's "follow me" option.
A year, the anniversary update and a new harddrive later, I am once again sitting in front of this mod. By now however, I have forgotten pretty much everything I taught myself about modding.
There doesn't happen to be someone that has an AE compatible version lying around and is willing to share it?
For those of you below this comment that was talking about porting this mod to SE, I hope you do. In fact, I hope someone does it because Lost to the ages is one of my favorite quest and I have always liked Katria as a character here. Fingers cross as I hope it makes it to SE one day.
Looks like an awesome mod! Lost to the ages was always one of my favorite quests and I look forward to trying this mod out once I get my current mod list finished. Also wanted to throw my two cents in to people making comments about not being able to find Taron Dreth. As far as I know, I believe that he is a random world encounter. The best way to get him to appear faster is to travel along the main roads as that is where a lot of spawn points are located for random world encounters. I don't know if he can appear everywhere on any road in Skyrim but at the very least I can confirm that I encountered him on a main road near Riften which makes sense since the final dungeon for this quest is in that area. Hope this helps anyone coming across this mod. Have a good game everyone and thanks again for making this mod!
I have finished the quest, Lost to the ages, a while ago and still no Taron Dreth. Is there a way to make this happen fast, maybe an update to the mod causing him to seek the Dragonborn out? Seems everyone else finds me. Thanks!
Just found this mod and i want to try it but. Last time I installed a mod that sneaked in a serana appearance file it turned all my followers faces dark..ALL of them so Im hesitant to try this mod out. SO can you please tell me which file I must delete in other words I need the the face geom file so I can get rid of it I do not want Serana changed please. Also i already beat this quest so what are the steps to get katria if you already finished this questline?

If you put the word "Katria" into the search field, you'll find some more.
-install this mod
- open ck (creation kit)
- set this mod as active and click ok
- after load save and close the ck
- enjoy
Sorry my mistake. I was looking in SSE version :D
