Hi i'm having an issue with and that is that whenever i'm going to create the character the death knight race doesn't appear and cant use it
Edit 1: OK figured the issue so whenever i install it through the vortex mod manager it would only download the race compatibility files and won't download the death knight files so to fix it what i did was to manually download the files extract the death knight files (Only the death knight files not the race compatibility files ) and follow the installation in the mod description go to the vanilla game launcher and set the load order, the death night mod should show at the bottom of the mod loader, then i installed the race compatibility mod separably

For anyone who tries to convert this to Special Edition:

    - Spells and race itself work just fine. No particular issues with them.
    - Spell on level attainment should work if you place the ESP after anything that impacts the player vampire quest.
    - Acherus worldspace shows some odd lighting issues and flickering. Might be my lighting mods interacting badly with it.
    - Lich King doesn't convert. His armor and FrostMourne have multiple issues. Attempting to optimize his meshes results in comical errors worthy of Ubisoft (floating head above a pile of armor on the floor, solid black textures, armor that has no 1st person views, blotchy partially invisible textures on FrostMourne, etc). It also breaks the NPC Death Knights, making them into strange abstract art. Attempting to optimize textures past 'necessary' in the Cathedral Assets Optimizer results in immediate CTD upon travelling to Acherus. These issues are not present when running in Oldrim, works just fine there.

I installed the mod and it all looks great only I'm not being granted the spells upon levelup like the description says nor am I given the quests. I got to level 11 in a short trial playthrough and never got death coil or the quest it says is given to you. The spells all work I tested them all via console commands and acherus loads fine so I'm unsure of the problem.

Thank you, I was just about to report the same issue. I've tried installing it via mod manager (MO 1) and manually, and same results both ways. No spells, no quests, nothing.

Hey, did you install just the mod itself, not the packaged RaceCompatability mod? That's what ended up having it work for me.

Anyone have any luck in figuring out where the race/quest/spell setup went wrong for this? I've looked at the setup in TES5EDIT, but I don't know enough about quest setups to figure out how this might be messed up.

MMM thats a strange one. I just tested it on my PC to see if I had messed anything up and it all works fine for me. Only thing I can suggest is check all the scripts are in the right folders as the spells and quests are added via scripts.

Skyrim makes no sense to me sometimes. I just converted it over to Special Edition (I'm currently using SE, I was on LE when I put in the bug report), and installed it like I normally would. The only thing I didn't do was use the built-in Race Compatibility. I made a DK, advanced skills via console, and started getting a ton of quest messages and spells. So now it's working, and I really didn't do anything different. Thank you for responding, though. :)

Unfortunately I've hit a brick wall with the bugs in this mod and am completely stumped as to why they are happening. I tried creating a few more custom races and it seems every race that is created in the CK that is assigned custom head parts and custom head parts form lists causes the following to happen in the in game character creation menu:

      1) When the race is first selected it will not use the custom head parts until you select a another race then re-select the custom race.
      2) When you move any of the sliders for the custom head parts such as hairs, eyes etc. it eventually causes CTD or the head becomes invisible and only the mouth and eyes are displayed.

I have triple checked everything against the vanilla races and everything is set up exactly the same to a tee.

Conclusion: There is absolutely no reason why these issues should be happening but they are happening (welcome to the world of modding). I wish I could wave a magic wand and fix everything but the reality is I don't have a clue and unless someone with a bit more knowledge than myself can help there is nothing more that can be done. Sorry guys.

      Ouch.

Well, if all else fails, turn to the forms or another modder for aid?

Just a quick heads up: None of the hair mods work with the custom race. But beyond that I am quite enjoying the mod as I was a fan of the original. Nice work mate

Yeah I had to make a new head parts list for the race, maybe adding the custom hair mods to that list might make them work

I think I like this version of the mod better than the other one. It seems a lot more straight forward to me. Not sure how to describe what exactly I mean by that but yeah. Cool mod.

Looks interesting! But is there any possibility of making the characters have custom skin and bodies? UNP, CBBE, SOS, ect?

I haven't tested it yet, but there are no dedicated skin textures/meshes, so I assume they use the ones you have installed for vanilla races?

It's just nice to have different textures for different races. Death Knight race probably suits a rough and tough look better than a kawaii anime look!
Something like Veteran Skin for males and Pride of Valhalla for women!
Or just let people replace with the textures they prefer, I always do that for custom races.

    But good work!

They use all vanilla textures so should be compatible with most body repalcers
